Kudos to Alfred for her amazing 2024 season. When I watched this I thought it was incorrect that she was the only athlete to win the WI and OG in the same season as I thought Marcell Jacobs did, but my memory was at fault, he won WI the year following his win in the OG. Question: Is it more impressive for a sprinter to win with room to spare or by thousands of a second like Lyles? I noticed a lot of comments post OG that suggested Lyles's feat was more remarkable because it was so close. Thoughts?

She was never that good. Most overhyped athlete in the history of track and field (on and off track) her personality is bratty and her track performance has been good but when people compare her to SAFP and ETH it’s actually a joke, she’s not even close. She might be 8th all time fastest but for the hype she gets and the era she’s running in with shoe and training technology etc. that’s really underwhelming. I’d rank her behind Dina Asher smith in terms of all time greatness on track. She’s well behind Gabby as far as complete sprinters are concerned. She’s good at one thing which is top end speed between 80-100m which for a 100m athlete is a very small part of the race to be good at. In only 10 seconds you can’t afford to have a consistently slow start and drive and only a fast top end speed. Imo if she was racing in the lane next to Shericka in 2023 she would’ve got smoked just as bad as when she faced Elaine and Shelly in 2021
