Its ok to prefer this style of worship (quite wonderful, I agree), but it is unbliblical to call it the only acceptable form of worship before God. God by no means prescribed that. God accepts Christian metal, Christian rap, and any other form with theologically sound lyrics and a genuine heart to his glory.
@@geeseareanacceptableformof4815There’s no basis for that at all. It’s just what you want to listen to, so you want God to be okay with it. Metal and rap are both wicked genres of music. Even putting aside the violent nature of the music and the artists who create them, the music itself is not pleasant. This isn’t simply my preference, as I grew up listening to all kinds of hip-hop before cutting it out of my life. At very best, the artists are carnal Christians who are building a bridge to the world’s music for their listeners. At worst, and seems to be much more common if you pay attention to the news, the artists aren’t even saved, and they are using the “Christian” umbrella to gain more fame than they would otherwise. How many times does one of these artists need to “deconstruct” their faith before we are honest that there’s an issue with the industry writ large? We are commanded to be holy, and to avoid all appearances of evil. There’s just no way an honest, spirt-filled believer can pretend those kinds of music fit that standard. I’ll pray you come to see this truth, if you haven’t since you made this comment 8 months ago. There’s no condemnation here, as I said, I used to be the same way.
1. Wonderful grace of Jesus, Greater than all my sin; How shall my tongue describe it, Where shall its praise begin? Taking away my burden, Setting my spirit free; For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me. Refrain: Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus, Deeper than the mighty rolling sea; Higher than the mountain, sparkling like a fountain, All-sufficient grace for even me! Broader than the scope of my transgressions, Greater far than all my sin and shame; Oh, magnify the precious Name of Jesus, Praise His Name! 2. Wonderful grace of Jesus, Reaching to all the lost, By it I have been pardoned, Saved to the uttermost; Chains have been torn asunder, Giving me liberty; For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me. 3. Wonderful grace of Jesus, Reaching the most defiled, By its transforming power, Making him God’s dear child, Purchasing peace and heaven For all eternity- And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.
This was one of my favorite hymns to sing when I joined the choir in my church when I was about 14. I sang bass and I loved the bass line. I love even more the message of this song. This rendition takes me back to my youth in the Baptist church I grew up in. Thanks so much for keeping these wonderful songs alive!
Get out of the "emergent" church. Every church I've ever been a member of only sings these hymns. The old hymns are full of sound doctrine, that matters. I would never join a church that has worldly "worship" music, that to me is a big red flag that their doctrine is bad.
This was my favourite hymn when I first got saved in 1979, and still is. I miss the churches where everyone sang out from Great Hymns of the Faith, had an on point song leader and a wonderful piano player. I live in the UK now, and this type of song service is absolutely non existent - in my area, and in any area I have visited. Every church I have visited people mumble through Mission Praise choruses and Hill Song stuff on a screen. No hymn books, no song leader, no one playing the melody... it really makes me long for the early days of my salvation. If you have a church where the song service is like this one, thank God for it. I'm grateful I can join in online.
This hymn is so fun to sing in a congregation with a big choir, a pipe organ and piano accompanying BUT this hymn also has a wonderful (no pun intended) message.
This is one of my favorite hymns. It's so hard for me to say which one is my favorite, because I have so many favorites. But this one is special to me because my dad used to sing the bass part, and I can even now hear the echo of his voice singing it.

What an absolute precious sight to see so many young people, I so look forward to seeing you all in heaven and spending time seeing you all. Stay strong in the faith these days when so many are falling away. God Bless
That high note is actually an alternate note. If you'll look in most hymnals, it's smaller than all the others in that chord. I believe the actual note is the same as "name."
Growing up this was my favorite hymn. That worship leader is blessed! I'm the worship leader in my little church and my jaw just dropped! Praise His name!
Absolutely, especially when they sing them over and over, there is no meaning to them. But hymns are so meaningful and glorifying to our Saviour. As these days are getting so dark, come Lord Jesus come.
I was halfway through writing a comment on how good the audio mix is for this song, and then it dawned on me that this is @AudioBuff ‘s church 😂 It all comes together now. Great upload.

This is the type of Songs we should sing in Church. 👍
AMEN
If Hillsong or Beth starts to play this, most will
Exactly. I'd suggest a different church if they aren't singing it at your current place.
AGREE !
@@phil3924 But they are too worldly.
These are the only hymns that should be sung in church, could sing them all day. God Bless what a worship leader. Thank you.

I cannot stand the modern music some churches use. They have a lack of Biblical content and lack beauty.

Me too i love listening to these old hymn.
Singing the old hymns finally helped me to get down on my knees and ask Jesus into my life. That's been 30 years ago.
Love the old hymns. 😁
I grew up singing the great hymns. Have always and will always love them.

Dr. J.R. Faulkner would sing this often at Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Ya don't need a choir when you have a congregation that enthusiastic...
Great hymn!!! The song director and pianists are excellent. What church is this?
This is far better than the garbage contemporary music our churches sing in our churches around my house.
Maybe Paul and Silas sang this while in prison in Philippi.
What is the name of the hymnal (book), please?
You will find this hymn in two Baptist Hymnals by Lifeway(1991 and 2008)
This particular hymnal is the Rejoice Hymnal from Randall House Publications.
We sang it from Great Hymns of the Faith
