Buckeye here. Sparty played extremely well the first half. Mistakes and turnovers put the death nail in. I was at last years game in the shoe. Two completely different teams. Your coach has your program heading in the right direction. Your QB is gonna be very good. Hang in there, it's gonna be very good for you all soon. You played a good team last night.
The fact that last year’s score was 38-3 and this year’s score was 38-7 and yet this year’s game was about 10x more competitive (for what little that’s worth when you still get your butt kicked) is the perfect demonstration of the beautiful and soul-crushing nature of the game of football.
The average score at halftime the past 4 years have been like 37-4 and was 24-7 this year and potentially have been within 1 score if not for turnovers and missed opportunities. They put together great drives on their defense early in the game
Emeka, J Smith, Inniss, Carnel Tate, all these guys are so good. We cant make mistakes against teams like Ohio State or Oregon, or in general. They will cost us. Tonight it did. This team is getting better though
Yeah, as a buckeye, i agree sparty got some bad luck and 20 was much closer to how the guys played. Next year we might fear michigan state more than michigan.
You're right, it would have been a different game. Had Ohio State not pulled their starters at the beginning of the fourth quarter. That 40 yds of total offense you put up would have made this game closer😂🤣😂🤣
You are absolutely correct it should’ve been tied going into halftime these turnovers are killing us. That game would have been a lot closer without the turnovers.
@@Dmb596 without the turnovers you know this would’ve been a different game and Ohio State got away with a big one with a face mask in the red zone with Aidan Childs.
@@Dmb596and we were hanging with you with our 2nd-3rd string o line the whole game and 2 turnovers, not to mention having nowhere near the talent 😂 Smith gets recruiting going this game will be very winnable
Hats off to Indiana, I think MSU can win that game if we keep improving - as we have done so far! I've been to many of the OSU vs MSU games since 2006 when I was stationed in Columbus for work. We have a foursome, two from MSU & two from OSU who go together - it has been an awesome time tailgating (we were at the last three MSU wins in the Shoe/Indianapolis). The fan-base at OSU are great partiers and... dedicated. Only one of us made it this year - but here was my two-cents to the boys this am: As the trophy says (several years ago I made a trophy out of Michigan Maple Block (Petoskey/closed down)) - "May the Best Team Win" and last night the best team won - however, Chiles and the Spartans have some greatness and they need to find it - and stay on it. Oregon will be interesting... OSU has some great talent in OL, RB and Receivers however, QB and Defense is not yet there. OSU, my take, currently is not a National Title Team and not worthy of the #3 rank ... yet. I agree, - I was just about to txt MSU is going to win this game in the first half - then OSU pulled the score out of the hat - a lucky (or talented) catch - a game of inches. Spartans/we have a young team and with a little more practice "learning on the job" (I was perplexed on taking Chiles of in the 4th - I feel he needs Reps - and why not vs a superior team - a great way to gain experience and learn!). New coaching staff is very good for MSU - (Tucker should have canned OC, DC and probably more in his first year... really Coach D should have done it...). Go GREEN - I only had time to write a long message... (the writers get it). GO GREEN! 😍
I have a weird aside question, does anyone know why they play HAVA NAGILA at Spartan Stadium? That seems very odd. Especially with all the tensions in the Middle East.
It sounds like total cope to say Michigan State was just a handful of plays away from making this a real game in a 31 point loss, but it's f*cking true. If the easy int doesn't get dropped, and those 3 trips to the redzone end with scores instead of 0 points, that's a 28 point swing. Even just give us 3 lousy points on each redzone drive that faltered and it's 17-16 at the half, and then who knows how the feeling of this game and the energy in the stadium changes in the 2nd half when it's tight. It's never going to feel good with a final score like this, but I've seen this program get completely embarrassed time and time again recently vs elite competition, and it just didn't feel like that last night. A lot of positive things were happening and we looked like we belonged on the same field that 1st half. Jonathan Smith and his staff are going to bring this program back. It'll take a lot of time to undo the mess that Tucker created, but the signs are there that things are already going in the right direction.
@@NCSDFL and the fact we looked the best in the first half with our starters on their starters and all our injuries and young players. Not saying we looked better than them but we were playing our best football and moving the ball very efficiently, defense was limiting the explosives, etc before they pulled their starters in the late game. Previous years it was usually the opposite...looked awful and did nothing initially and maybe get some pity points in the second half against their bench warmers 😂
The Spartan running game will be fine if the quarterback just takes the ball from the center turns and the back is already there going into the line and takes the hand off. It’s old-school football, but you can’t run the ball back into the backfield and hand it off because you give the defensetime to recover with that three or 4 yards into the back field. I hope everyone knows what I mean snap the guys in the line he’ll hit the hole. Get a yard every Martin
The dude in the green shirt needs to share talk time. He likes to hear himself to much. I like what you have to say but I also like what your partner had to say! When you were not interrupting him.
Thanks Captain Obvious. It's not like OSU marched out a bunch of grade schoolers in the 4th qtr. OSU's second string could start for most any other Big-10 team. Don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back.
Would love to see the Spartan football team play better, but this year is not the year. Spartans will be lucky to win 2 games the rest of the season. Indiana, Rutgers are not the pushovers of the past. 47 yards rushing won't beat anyone. Expect 20 plus point losses to Oregon and Michigan.
Osu was running base vanilla defense sorry yall score would've been even worse osu holding back stuff for oregon. Also guys you can say game of inches but osu had plays that got negated or were barely missed that could've lead to another 20 plus points for ohio state.
MSU played really hard but I just feel you guys are blowing smoke up yall asses😂 OSU tends to play down to competition, they ran a very soft defensive scheme, they were missing their best D-line player, and they stopped running the ball effectively when tre went out. Bucks showed mercy last night
Pathetic for OSU to allow it to happen in the first half with as many injuries as we've had on OL and literally starting a freshman LT 😂 And we're not like Ohio state basically recruiting their freshmen from the NFL with all these 4 and 5 stars
@lylemoore3827 What? Lol. What a weird comment. The game was over when they announced the schedule. You did nothing. You're lucky to have scored anything at all tbh
@melo7969 Nah they moved the ball just fine against you. They also didn't buy their roster. But when it comes down to it at the end of the year, you will be soft and get bullied and fold at the first sign of adversity. Like you always do. Imagine bragging about beating a rebuilding MSU team after spending 30 million on your roster😅😅😅😅😅
@grumpypoof9648 just fine. I'm glad our definition of fine and standards are different. They averaged 2.1 yards a carry. That's moving the ball. They moved the ball their first 4 possessions and had barely anything to show from it. Our starters didn't play past quarter 3. And your math is way tf off. You're a clown 🤡

As a Buckeye fan. I’d pick you guys to beat Michigan pretty convincingly if you don’t beat yourself. You have a ton of potential.
Good to hear proper coverage of a game from xichigan! TCUN need to learn from this

Yes according to fans Michigan State won the first half and Ohio state won the 2nd half so both teams won ACCORDING to Michigan State utubers experts
