- Today we are joined by @PJAudits as we take a walk around HMP Foston Hall, Foston, Derby DE65 5DN.
The beautiful building and the surrounding countryside was a pleasure to see but the illegal number plates in the public areas was a let down.
The spelling mistake on the official document is also embarrassing for the local council.
Thanks for the prison staff who just left us to it.

Great video, a friend of our family was a prison officer in the 1970’s when it was a borstal. He and his family used to live in the house that’s now fenced off. As a kid I stayed there loads of times. Back in the day it never used to have a solid fence so I would watch through the window at all the teenaged lads being marched around in their drab uniforms and shaven heads, occasionally they’d let a few out to tidy up the house’s garden …what memories

I've been in here a few times great times,the building you think are changing rooms is a wing called G wing temp.They are building a new wing A block.The wing which is fenced off is T wing used to be remand block.Its a very good prison the staff are brilliant

In the 70s and 80s, it was Young Offenders Institute better known as The Short Sharp Shock or boot camp.
The fenced off block with the black roof is where they house the nonces, its to protect them from being attact by other prisoners. also all cells have a flat screen TV with free vue channels and en suit bathroom.
No it isn't it's just a normal wing called T wing I've been in thus prison,the Nonce's are on wings with normal prisoners,no flat screen tv,some have showers so don't know where u got your information from
Flat screens tvs, about 12/13 channels.
You pay 50p a week if you're padded up with someone , other wise it's a £1.
Most cells have showers in cell.
As for the ducks, it's because there's the sanctuary in there. With ducks, birds, donkeys, etc.
The girl in the taxi was probably on her way back fro m hospital.
The sweat box drives round to reception , and just off reception is the remand/fnu. Where you can spend 1 week plus before going to a different wing.

You already have a TV in the cell..
Canteen every Tuesday which is what you order like chocolate, crisps, pens, phone credits and your vapes..

You get paid every day for being in your cell..

It was a detention centre...I was in there myself...and the old buildings that is the gate house used to be the old stables and the church
I was in there for 4 months in 1983..
It was child cruelty and I seen beatings given outvdaily by the screws..the victoriana building with the chimneys on it used to be the actual dorms and you have just brought back the most traumatic time of my childhood DJ lol..
One screw in particular sticks out to me and hecwas knick named chicken head..

Remember that old Scottish guy? Another fella I recall was a Geordie. We rarely got a minute's rest, was definitely a bit of punishment. That guy who went around the dorms shouting in the mornings was a bit much, he would tip the bed up if you lazed around. I doubt anyone knows how to scrub and buff a floor like we do, eh.
Dj please audit drake hall prison in Staffordshire you could also do Werrington not to far apart from each other, they are close to me and would be interested in seeing if they keep up with the high standards, Keep up the good auditing doing a top job mate 👍
Just been in the fenced off house made xmas dinner its used for family visits my sisters been in there 10 years and of good behavour was also part of the recent chan 4 documentary if ya no ya no 😮 gr8 channel tho worth a re visit those changing rooms are infact pods for inmates round covid times now trusted inmate accommodation 👍🏻

i spent 6 weeks in there in 1980, when it was a short shock treatment detention center for young boys , last 3 weeks spent in their hospital with chicken pox
You lucky sod, that was well cushy in there, I ended up sawing wood in winter, crappy donkey jackets held together with string, and mittens made of donkey jacket material.
5:07 They were called 'pads' when I was in. They definitely have T.V's (CRT's in the late 00's anyway...I doubt that's changed!) and they were definitely never called cells.
You would get 'rewards' but they were really only little at a time. But any reward is welcome in prison.
It was a borstal until the government re-named it a detention centre, it was for youth boys up to the age of 17, then after that they would go to buckley hall from 18 years old. i was there in 1981 for a stint

HM's Prison Hospital should have installed a more secure and functional gate built into the historic gate and which would even extend the 'ages' this antique 'Hospital' could show what happens to prisoners...don't break the law!
Or they could build a newer modern hospital and allow the Public to tour this historic monument and get a description about 'The Human Condition' of following our instincts, instead of our combined consciousness and *conscience* everyone has, and you well know. That's how we 'speak' to ourselves and the fools that don't listen end-up here!
School children might be convinced into evolving even further into Humankind's God given 'perfection' when hearing about that human condition of those that didn't listen... :)
Loads of folk round this area have illegal number plates , I get the impression the cops turn a blind eye to it .
I suspect there are a certain number of vehicles that are 'exempt' from prosecution.
@@noelward8047 nope not one...maybe the Queen...police up hold the Law they are not the Law or anyone else...army vehicles on roads don't have to adhere to certain things

I spent 8 weeks in here 1982.. Only 3 lads from Manchester. The rest mainly Liverpool. I lost all my remission fighting with scoucers. Only the victorian buildings there then.
Reckon you could still make a bed pack? My worst memories are the horrible light green nylon/polyester shirts we wore on Sunday, then running around with medicine balls and lifting benches in the gym.

Channel 4 did a series on this prison. Worth a watch. The house in the grounds is known as the family bonding unit.

Hi guys what an excellent video from you both, it was amazing that you had a clear run and you got no hassle from any of the staff, may be it’s because that the staff at the women’s prison have more decorum and are better educated on auditors and the use of drones over a prison.
Normally if you send your drone’s up over a prison all hell brakes out and the police turn up. 👍👍😀😀

Did not know they transport prisoners in taxis
I’m a prison officer and if the prisoner is seen as low risk of escape (in a cat c they will be deemed as a low escape risk otherwise they would be housed in a cat b or a) they can be transported via private taxi but need to have two officers sat either side and the prisoner will be cuffed to either one or two or the officers.

They don’t need the vehicles to bring in the contraband the screws do it themselves
if when you get to a prison and you have to deal with arsey gate house staff. Say, ` is it true that Crim shy screws work on the gate house?` Cos its true.
You wont find them on 446. They'll be higher up around 440-470, or on 137-140 ish. Depending who runs the site they may be on Airwave.
DJ equal rights for prisoners! Women have the right to be in prison, just like you 😀. Wouldn't wish it on anyone really especially parents with young children 😒

The bigger a channel gets, the harder its going to be to keep up, until it becomes impossible to do while also providing such quality content at such a regular pace. At some point, all some would be doing is answering comments and never having time to post the things we're all here for in the first place - the videos :)
Great vid as usual .... I believe them little square grey buildings at the far end are Covid pods, where they segregate prisoners with Covid 19, most prisons have some kind of pods like them.

Highly unlikely they will be using pmr 446 mhz frequencies their normally on 452mhz upto 457mhz and its usually either Digital DMR encrypted or they mostly now use airwave tetra same as the police which is always encrypted. If they use DMR sometimes it's not actually encrypted and can easily be bypassed....

As opposed to a privately run Prison. They are all prisons but only some are HMP Run. You have G4S, Sodexo and many more.

Prisons don't use PMR 446 They'll be 450-465 Mhz off if theyre still on anaogue. If not most likely be 449.3125,449.4000 or 449.47500....be interesting to see if you can hear them on analog or you hear digital noise? If its a machine gun type sound you can decrpyt it with some work with a DMR radio :) They wont use 446.
