This is genuinely weird. I was scrolling RUclips to find something to watch while getting ready & usually it's always like dark murder stuff or negative stuff about current topics/politics and I stopped from clicking the usual video I watch, said to myself "no, pick something happy" and this came up in my feed right at that moment. I've been in a rut lately that I really need to pull myself out from. I need to make healthier choices for myself and seek happiness instead of soaking in bad stuff. I need to smile and be grateful I'm alive with two functioning legs and the ability to live life. I'm grateful for this video finding me.
I used to watch true crime 24/7. I grew up with my mom watching it, and for years now that's pretty much all I watched/listened to. I can't say exactly when I stopped, but it's been maybe like 6 months to a year, anyways I quit watching it, which was hard, but now I'm a way happier person than I was. on the rare occasion I do listen to a true crime story, I'm usually horrified that i even put myself through that trauma for so long

This playlist reminds me of the summer of '21. I'd just finished uni, the UK was coming out of the pandemic and I'd managed to land a job as a cocktail bartender in this new club/bar that'd opened in my hometown. Most of my days were spent serving drinks and getting wasted on the overly generous manager's orders until about 3am, then staggering home drunk. Communities thrive in small towns anyway, but immediately after the pandemic people were particularly socially conscious so it was consistently good times in that bar. Still, there was a sense of something dangerous hanging in the air. The government could've put another lockdown in place at any time (wouldn't have been the first time), my dad had been diagnosed with bowel cancer, and the friends I'd made in uni were becoming increasingly toxic following the loss of a sense of purpose that uni had given them. It'd take me a few years to be struck by that same loss, and fortunately my dad's diagnosis turned out to be a false one. Three years on I look back at that time, at the family I was able to keep, the friends I lost, and the way the world's veered away from that sense of post-pandemic community and I can't help but miss it. Life seemed simpler, but I've traded simplicity for freedom. I miss the kid I was, but I don't regret becoming the person I am now - next round is on me!
Currently going through chemotherapy, at the ripe old age of 25, and life is full of uncertainty right now, but this playlist is putting a lot of my stress at ease. I feel seen in the best way.

I’m going through a really hard time right now. My cat, my best friend of 15 years, died last night. She’s been with me since I was 7 and I wish I was able to go back in time and undo her passing. I feel like if I changed something, anything, she would still be with me. I was already going through a mental health crisis and this just really helps make a bad situation worse. I’m so sorry for your loss. My Poe died in 2022 at age 18. That cat had been with me since I was 22 years old. I still go back over everything and wonder if it could have been different. But things do get easier. You still miss them but it’s lovely when little memories come up now, and most of the sting is gone. Know that you gave them a good life and that they loved you immensely ❤ I promise it gets easier.

I’m going through a really hard time right now. My cat, my best friend of 15 years, died last night. She’s been with me since I was 7 and I wish I was able to go back in time and undo her passing. I feel like if I changed something, anything, she would still be with me. I was already going through a mental health crisis and this just really helps make a bad situation worse. Okay, enough trauma dumping. The point of this comment is to say that I’m really glad this playlist found me right now. I feel special, like I was sent it for a reason. The positivity exuded in this comment section really makes me hopeful that things will get better and that there is still hope❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. My Poe died in 2022 at age 18. That cat had been with me since I was 22 years old. I still go back over everything and wonder if it could have been different. But things do get easier. You still miss them but it’s lovely when little memories come up now, and most of the sting is gone.
Know that you gave them a good life and that they loved you immensely ❤ I promise it gets easier.
