My dad is the black swing dancer! I always watch for these remake videos and he's being kept alive by this new generation of swing... Leon James - kinda famous in his day
Oh man. I miss dancing like this. Of course at my age of 83 I couldn't even do the two step. Brings back good memories. But love this era cause I can see so much on you tube. Fantastic time to live. Just bloom in the era you are in.
Marie McCowan Wow 83! You've seen so much! I love listening to ppl from your era telling stories from back in the day. If my dad were alive he would have turned 100 in 2019, but sadly he died 5 years ago. I'm in my 30s so he had me WAY older than most ppl have children. I learned so much from him. I hope you live so many more years so you can tell your stories to younger ppl. It's sad that ppl's from your generation are dying off. It saddens me so much that's why I hope you stick around. As far as not being able to dance like this, I dot know what kind of health you're in but maybe start off slow. Don't stop moving though bc you know the saying, a body in motion stays in motion but a body at rest... Well you know the rest. Good luck!
Well get ready sir cause with Electro Swing and the new Roaring 20's, I bet all the swingers will be pushing out crazy new songs and it will be the best time to dance once again so dust off those shoes. Don't worry about age you're never too old to swing!
The fact that the twenties is coming up again makes me so happy. These songs just make it so much better because it will be almost just like the old twenties, but with a twist.
This video is an excellent showcase of Parov Stelar's Chambermaid's Swing. It features scenes from the movie Hellzapoppin. Excellent work Mr. Kogler. Thank-you.
@@ronaldsteed300 You're missing the point. It's not about where it started. It's the fact that this swing music, and nobody denies its origins, is being widely played in Europe but not in America. The form in which it's now developed into is rather different from the past - comparatively small groups with a lot of electronics instead of the big big swing bands that used to dominate Swing music, hence the term Electro-Swing that's often used to describe it.
WOW,...I mean,.WOW!!!!...........I have never seen anything like that in my life,....I mean it's art,.........no,,..its more than that it's beautiful in a way I can't describe,..how can I compliment them correctly?,....All the dancing was absolutely marvelous,...yes,..Fred Astaire and all but,....I've never seen such powerful joy of life dancing as I have just now with the African American group,..wonderful!
I love the contrast between the naturally powerful wild fast innate skills versus the bourgeois slow-methodical over-practiced expensive-costumed professionally-required-choreography of Hollywood.
the young couple and the couples at the end............now that's what i call real dancing! if you've never found a partner that was just perfect for you and learned how to dance like this, then oh my god you have so missed out on some of the most fun you could ever have!!!

I miss those times back then....when Dancing was about ART (good clothes and suits 2:04 & 3:10) and HAVING FUN (For real! 1:25) and not just about sex appeal and half-naked dancers like today....... ;-)
With all the dancing shows out there (and I watch them ALL), why aren't some young dance contestants studying these vids to relearn these moves? I've never seen ANYTHING like this!!!! Many thanks to the video poster! :)
Video sources are from movies: The maids and chef scenes are from Hellzapoppin, 1940s (I think). The Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers (Ginger in pants), is from Top Hat, 1930s. I don't know about the giant dance scene with ribbons.
@@shylofoxx I did an image search from his movies and couldn't find anything. If anyone does, please let me know! That bit with the ribbons is one of the coolest things I've ever seen and I'd love to know where it's from.
SometimesOffensive SometimesNot What? Well considering I'm underweight, I'd say I'm not and that you're being obnoxiously assumptive/pretentious. I was simply mocking the idea that life was so much better in the 20's when disease was far more common, cars were really only available to those with wealth, the most advanced everyday technology was radio, and the Great Depression was on its way. Yeah, awesome times.

+Bee G. Hey you must be proud. There is a real rhythm to Leon James. Keep it there !!!
+SEJ3333 Looked him up. He had quite the reputation as a dancer!

You could slowly swing dance
@@spacedude5208 are you serious lmao
@Ruxandra Ieseanu if your old and you wanna dance dance slowly it at least doesn’t brake something
The video editor is a f-ing genius. He got all those clips to line up perfectly.
Однажды, услышав Chambermaid Swing, я вышла замуж и родила дочь. Это до сих пор что-то невероятное. Нас объединила музыка:)
Mesmerizing.................beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pezzo ritmico e coinvolgente, un elettro-swing veramente notevole. Complimenti!
What strikes me is that I can see elements of different modern dance styles here. Damn I'm impressed.
The physical personification of a moment in emotion. Truly magical.
Давно не испытывал такого восторга от увиденного и услышанного, того кто это сделал большой талант.Огромное спасибо!!!
Ну так Parov Stelar довольно таки известная австрийская музыкальная команда.
lovely
Holy smokes! These dancers are soooo fit! It wears me out just watching them! The chambermaids were so happy! Well done 👍!
I love this song! The maids and the cooks dance routine had me laughing. Its so energized and filled with a little bit of comedy :)

I'm really liking this electroswing stuff. You Europeans are on to something here.
Daniel Lunsford we sure are
"You europeans are on to something here"... Not really. The music is African American in origin
Ronald Steed he means:
Caravane Palais : France
11 acorn lane : German

Absolutely awesome
Simply Devine, they were all iconic and magnificent. Fred Astaire has to be my ultimate favorite
Шикарно и красиво как всегда, спасибо большое за музыку и шикарный клип
Wouldn't it be great if swing made a comeback in the 2020s and 30s in the style of electro swing, to honour the 1920s and 30s?
I'd love that to happen more than anything! Also suits, hats and community spirit.
it...is...happening! :) Check on swing danse around your place! Lindy Hop, Charleston and so on!
Joe Rutherford I would adore that!!!😃
If only
Retzi I completely agree

You're forgetting that although it seems like modest, fun, artsy dancing, back then this was as scandalous as it got. This was considered half naked.
