Bad luck. That looked decent. From experience , and not trying to be a knob head know it all, when a king charges back and underneath you, stick the rod vertically down in the water and let it pull you around. Otherwise it will wrap the rod around the kayak and, unless you have an Ugly Stick, the end result is a rod in two pieces. Better luck next time
Lucky you can buy replacement pieces for those Okuma Tournament rods, good little rods, nice to hear a reel scream like that, great battle.
