Always funny stuff! I lived in California for 3 years and can believe this tax could happen. Had to move my company out of California with too many costly regulations that didn't make sense. One just has to pass the costs on to the customer which is often the government....the people.
The hack politicians in the state of California were the ones that put a price cap on power, so Enron and others just exported California power to other Western markets that were willing to pay more for it
I grew up in Pacific Grove where they did this skit. Long before that was a lighting store that commercial space is where GroveMont was. In the 1970s I used to buy my shoes and sandals at GroveMont.
@peterfunt8622 BTW, since it seems you know that that commercial space was the GroveMont decades ago, you've jogged my memory regarding the guy who owned the GroveMont. His name was something like Michael Bubay/Bobay. Nice guy but very quirky. He had me come out to his Carmel Valley home once after I had become a plumbing contractor, and his home was a veritable aviary. He had lots of exotic birds in his home, none of them in cages. Use your imagination regarding to what a "mess" his home was. Anyway, in the 1990s my wife and four kids and I lived in Carmel and our kids went to the Carmel River School. I think you know about that school. I expatriated the Monterey Peninsula in 2012 and bought a huge spread of remote forested land up here in Modoc County. Total privacy, complete solitude.
It’s ridiculous. Related, but not exactly the same. Not how things used to be with just cable, CDs, and the radio. I refuse to pay for any entertainment services other than RUclips. Mine still says RUclips Red. Teehee. I’m an OG. Other than that it’s just iCloud because I have 55,000 photos and 10,000 videos. My mother got me Netflix for Christmas. Literally nothing is on Netflix and it’s such a scam now. I very briefly had AppleTV for one show. I buy movies VERY rarely, but really that’s no different than buying DVDs or VHS and around the same price. I’d never rent them. Blockbuster you’d rent some things and bring them back…you didn’t have to pay for it every time, right? $4 to watch a movie once is ludicrous. This is advice, I bought one of my all time favorite shows for $19.99 a season, I don’t at all feel like I was ripped off. If you have an iPhone buy things. You can buy most anything. What’s insane to me is if they…I forget how it works, but some things aren’t available to rent? So Apple directs you to all the places that have it. It’s a rabbit hole. You need Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV, Amazon Prime, it’s just endless. Then there is Spotify and whatever else. I think YT music comes with Premium, but I don’t use it. All my music is organized on here…people end up paying $100 or more. Idfk how people who constantly use YT deal with ads though. This is the only service that seems worth it to me. TV shows, shorts, music, movies, endless things, and they are all free…
Electricity tax is as ridiculous as recycling fee in CA when you buy coke or beer in stores. The money you get when you sell your empty bottles back is never the same.
This is the twilight zone as California passed a bill last year to tax people for electricity according to their income. Your usage doesn’t matter it’s your income bracket.
The lady is still waiting to flush her toilet. She said she don’t watch TV but she wanted to know what channel and when it’s coming on or whatever that was hilarious so I guess she does watch TV. At least she watches the candy camera show and everybody should watch that.
"I never flush the toilet."
Candid Camera was the best
I so agree, CJ. When the one woman said that she never flushes her toilet, I literally laughed out loud. 😂
Peter is hilarious and quick with your one liners!
That first reveal was awesome. That's man's face instantly went from a scowl to the biggest smile. 😅
4:10 "Tell me when it's gonna be on TV." In 23 years we will broadcast it on RUclips. What-tube?
But she doesn't watch TV!
Many people love to be charged up by their sense of humor that made this clip possible..........
🤣 _we have so many different kinds of taxes nowadays all I do is just shrug my shoulders and pay it._
That was a good one! You guys make me laugh my head off 🤣 Thank you for all you do, this world needs more mirth and hilarity.
1:18 "black outs and brown outs"🤣🤣🤣

Hold on Commiefornia! CC predicted the future back then. You MUST have an electric vehicle..but dont dare charge it!😂😂😂😂
Major boomer alert with this stupid comment.
In retrospect it's not farfetched
- It doesn't go to the States, it's coming straight into our pockets 😂
- Why should I put it in your pocket? 😂😂😂
It was Enron and other electricity wholesalers that were gaming the deregulated market that caused the electricity crisis.
I was looking for a comment mentioning Enron.
@@RhaegarTargaryen1st You got it. It wasn't an electricity shortage. There was plenty of capacity. It was corporate greed.
The hack politicians in the state of California were the ones that put a price cap on power, so Enron and others just exported California power to other Western markets that were willing to pay more for it

Do Monarch Butterflies still gather in Pacific Grove?
@@joesell2565 No idea, I moved away from the Monterey Peninsula in 2012.
Fabulous!
The black outs , and the brown outs …….. lol
She was saving water, not electricity, by not flushing her toilet
I only flush mine when it really needs it. When it's yellow it's MELLOW 🙂
Great reactions lol
I’ve been on tv a few times and NEVER watched it!!!!
You are very welcome.
Now there are so many “fees” that are charged. There is the Covid-19 fee, service fee, credit card convenience fee, etc..

So much fun as usual. LOL
The cohost was once married to Clint Eastwood.

Commiefonia has had how long to fix this problem?
We had to pay a homeless tax in Oregon.
Pumping more water does take electricity so yes, not flushing does conserve electricity and water.
unless you have city water & pay a water bill.
This is the twilight zone as California passed a bill last year to tax people for electricity according to their income. Your usage doesn’t matter it’s your income bracket.

So Cali!
Wow! People actually challenged stupid senseless things back then and didn't just go with the flow.
Conman is here? 🤑
This 21st century version is not Candid Camera classics. The real Candid Camera classics are the Alan Funt version made during the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
People are so gullabal? 😳
This one isn’t funny because it’s not a stretch.
give me a billion dollar i will never date that last lady
If it’s brown flush it down, if it’s yellow keep it mellow. There were actually signs in California in the 70s that said that to conserve water.
Funny thing is in Canada that’s a reality.
