I had a dream that my friend and I were the people in this game and we collected scrap metal on different moons and everything. I completely blame Carson for bringing this game to my dreams, although I don’t think he’s responsible for the part where my friend turned into Freddy Fazbear and tried to kill me until I stabbed him to death with a screwdriver.

when you were in the library and quacks said there was a bomb, I backed myself away from my desk, expecting (and partially hoping for) the entire building to blow up when getting too close. these streams have been awesome and led to so many hilarious moments I like going to everyone else's vods to see what everything looks like in someone else's perspective :D

This game needs more variety as both rooms and monsters repeat too much, but that's easier said than done. There is only so many ways you can designs corridors. For monsters you prob would have to introduce actual tools to fight them but make them limited (Y tool works only on Y monster) with limited uses to not trivialize the game; presence of tools to deal with monsters allows for more oppressive design of them. Days have to be longer (or at least midnight hard-timer removed) to incentivize going deeper into the labyrinth. Monster spawn logic has to be adjusted to not create impossible scenarios (like big worm wants you to move away fast but dogs want you to move slowly so them together and you're bound to lose). Walkie talkie has to have separate inventory slot as sacrificing 1/3 of your space (as flashlight is mandatory for fast movement) is just not worth it for immersion Locations need to be more monster themed, on specific seed there should be less variety of monsters but keep the number so some location would have like 3+ spiders and you'd have to deal with them, not just avoid the zone. This would allow easier balancing as getting springhead is so much worse than any other monster as it's so oppressive, at least from joker you can run to the exit. What kept SCP-173 balanced was its random despawning and player's ability to interact with things behind so you didn't have to turn around, springhead is just broken even with the stun, it's as oppressive as player controlled SCP-173.

Point of them being limited (expensive single use) is so that you're hesitant to use them and do so when you think it's absolutely necessary. Horror works only on the clueless, horror theme is the important part. Phasmo is terrifying to newbies but ppl play it for hundreds of hours cuz the theme is enjoyable. Harder planets need monsters you need tools to deal with, otherwise game is very limited in what it can do and will have no updates or updates with the same monsters with different visuals. You can do only so much with basic player movement. I'd agree tho you can't have things like guns as they provide too much comfort mentally even if they were useless in practice. Tools would have to be more creative. Even cliché vintage photo camera would be fine addition as a tool to combat Z monster. Right now the only monster you can't play around is springhead as it's too dangerous to just run away and let him backstab you sooner or later so the best thing is have someone have a staring contest with it till it's time to leave. You can't argue it's fun gameplay to have someone afk. It'd be way better once you see it go get like 300$ one-time-use tool to disable it to have your friend join you playing instead of standing in the staring contest. Oppressive monsters need to have a way to get rid of them to not create unfun play patterns. And proper introductions of such tools also creates space to make more oppressive monsters. More oppressive monsters also introduce more interesting strategies as now you have to think how to deal with X+Y combo if encountered.
