I like the different musical styles and randomness of the performance. Mostly because the band were chatty and wanted to talk, I found myself finding out more about the band and songs they like to perform, so at the end of it all, I would say I am a new fan. Even better news is the back catalogue I'm currently going through and the new album I am waiting patiently for! Just incredible, thank you to the whole band 😎

In those 8 years the music business has majorly been turned upside-down thanks to the Internet. It's up to the audience to give artist recognition not the financial business. People now are more exposed to Cat Empire's soulful oldschool beats that has always been and always will be great.
Speaking as someone who's been studying music for 5 years now. I can confirm that Reggae and Ska are probably two of the most similar genres on the planet. Ska is basically sped up reggae (actually the other way around given chronology). Ska is a mixture of traditional calypso music, jazz and rhythm and blues. Every new genre in Jamaica has organically grown from the last. If doubt is still with anyone on these comments. Search for Bob Marley - Stir it Up (original)
This song has the best refrain/chorus of any song ever. It's so addicting. I wish they would repeat it more and more and more at the end, instead I have to put the song on repeat :). Trumpet-guy with the high pitched voice tops it off!
a couple of TV commercials doesn't make for a sell out..........and even if it did they bloody well deserve it....that they are about to play dozens of shows in three continents speaks for itself don't ya think......I'd pay anything to see this band live and have done so many times. They love the audience and I can't wait for more.

this just gives me so many intense emotions. doesn't matter that the style is slightly different to some of their other songs - this is so brilliant and fresh and electrifying. there is so much to this song - harmonies, backing vocals, riffs, latin piano, an eargasmic bass line - and the more i listen, the more i discover each time. and this video is striking and beautifully done too. amazing work boys!
