I have a GMT steelfish SO, and the bezel is perfectly aligned

Great video, I wish it was a 40MM watch and half the thickness. I actually love the dial

I like your take on it. It took me buying several $1000 Hamiltons and Tissots to realize brand mattered to me as much as anything else.

Damn...I feel your pain. You must be the only person alive to spend $1000 on a Hamilton or Tissot..

I know this video is a year old. This model never went for $1100-$1300 used a year ago. Not even 5 years ago...

I've purchased 2 sub-$1500. I'm speaking from experience not speculation. Heck, I remember publishing this video and even seeing online retailers like Crown & Caliber listing them at sub $2K. Hop on ebay and look at sold listings sometime. Even nowadays they sell for under $2K frequently.

Here you go, ebay $1575 (no bids): www.ebay.com/itm/Breitling-SuperOcean-Steelfish-44mm-A17390-Silver-Watch/333895185634?epid=19043318218&hash=item4dbdb434e2:g:FbwAAOSwRUpgJrf3

You said $1100-$1300... $1600 on eBay is a far cry from what you claimed, also that’s not what it’s selling for. There could be a reserve which I’m not willing to try. Thank u though for the link.

@@nightstalker824 Selling for $1300 and posted at $1575 with NO bids are a "far cry" from each other? I didnt send the link to help you buy one. You jumped in acting like prices ive actually purchased and seen them for is unrealistic. Just providing proof that your statement was off-base. Cheers.

@@nightstalker824 I picked one up 2 years ago for $1,250. Whether you can get one all day today for that price... well... maybe not, but if you negotiate, it can happen. I think people caught on to the value of the Steelfish and bought up the used stock. Now, they can still be had for less than $1,500, but there just aren't very many of them available at real prices.
A good point of negotiation is the age of all these watches and how you can refresh them from Brietling. Think of what you'd be willing to pay for a new one, subtract $700, and then subtract $700 again for giggles and if you can get a used one for that price, just jump on it. So if you'd be willing to do, assuming the money fell into your lap, $3,000 for a new Steelfish straight from the factory, as soon as you see one on the market for $1,600.... get it. You won't regret it. Keep it for a while and then when you want to make it new send it out and get a new looking watch back.

I know this is an old video but I'm thinking of purchasing one, but there appears to be lots of revisions/anaomolies with the dials. I've seen triangle tipped hands with the straight extended line at the bottom of the 's' like this one, but also version with a more pronounced wavy line at the bottom of the 's' like on the newer superoceans. The same on the square tipped hand versions. Also, version with CHRONOMETRE CERTIFIE and other versions with just CHRONOMETRE. It is all really confusing.

The steelfish with the square tip seconds hand that you refer to is the 42mm steelfish that was only produced for one year. As such it is very rare

Not all of the Steelfish with the square tip seconds hand are 42mm, I have one and it is 44mm.
