I just don;t know what to think at this point…. If the goal is making the playoffs then he can probably get the job done. If the goal is to win the Stanley Cup I think we are going to be waiting a few more years. I don’t think we have the players that are going to play with the grit needed to bring it home.
But that's exactly why you make this move. He is the guy who can make our good young players great veterans while we build the team to compete for cups. Maybe he lucks up in the wins one But if he doesn't you build a team with the core and the know-how to win a chip and you go find a coach who can get you over that hump.

I have nothing but respect for Lindy Ruff but I don't think this is the right decision by Adam's. If this fails, he will be out of a job too! So, let the games begin! Improve your roster Adams, don't blow smoke up our behinds about how these kids are now veterans and playoff ready and will be held accountable. You have needed a few key parts for a couple of years now to complement the core group of talent you have in order to be successful, they can't do it on there own, you haven't got it done yet, so how long do we have to wait?
I think our fans that say what you are saying here don’t understand Adams. What specific players did you want brought here last season? I can guarantee you there is a logical reason why it didn’t happen. People don’t actually listen to what he says.

At the trade deadline, Adams did little to ceize the opportunity to bring in veteran talent available at the trade deadline thereby supporting his team to give them a better chance to pick up that 1 point we needed to put us in to the playoffs, which would have changed the mindset, expectations and respect, and perception people have for the franchise. Adding Greenway was good, but he also had injury issues and didn't play every game. What players specifically? Use your imagination, like a good g.m. would, guys like Taffoli, Bertuzzi, Orlov, Anderson, Horvat, Kane, Jones, etc, in other words, talented vets that are about to become free agents on teams that aren't going to the playoffs, you know, like all successful g.m.'s do. Geez.
Lindy Ruff was given a young team in New Jersey and ultimately failed, so what is going to be different this time around? If this hire fails, Kevyn Adams along with his gas lighting BS needs to be shown the door along with Ruff! No excuses!
