    I met Hector and his children at a small town show. If the rest of the family is anything like him,the rest of the family are great people. As far as the Von Erich's....to me they are the real first family of wrestling. I hate they didn't contact Kevin before writing the script. I am thrilled the movie has brought the family back to the forefront. Such great entertainers, such a tragic story, but so glad Kevin is now at peace with the past. A beautiful, strong family, may God bless you all.

    I had A lot of things going on in the early 80's..Being in the metroplex and in my early 20's. I had my work, and at the time I was and still am a huge cat fishermen. but for those 5 or 6 years like I said on your other live video.. I spent a lot of time at the Sportatourium yelling for the Von Erich's And screaming at the heals. I use to have a boat load of old VHS with the show from channel 11 on them. But WCCW was a huge part of my life back then...After your grandfather left the business I quit watching wrestling all together. Nothing like being there and in the moment. I am so thankful you guys are doing this. I knew those boys were like us..they had several things against them. It was the early 80's when doctors gave pain out pain medicine like candy... They beat the hell out of each other..I was watching an old interview and a new guy to the territory had asked the your uncles how hard should he hit them..and they responded with beat the hell out of us. You have to have some relief somehow..I have had 4 back surgeries so I am classified as an addict Andi go to a addiction clinic. At least I have this.. Your uncles didn't have anything. I am so happy you guys are setting the story straight. For so long all we had was mostly lies from the media..specially the ones they told on your grandfather. God bless you for doing this. It has brought a lot peace to my heart.

      We probably were at many of the same matches! Dad would take us to Sportatorium from Wichita Falls. Christmas 82 will always be vivid in my mind as we were at Reuinion when the door slam hear around the world went down!

    Living in North Texas during the Von Erich reign, going to Sportatorium, Reunion, TX. Stadium, Will Rogers, it didn't get bigger than The Von Erichs! As 10 year old boys, we worshipped them! Kerry, David, Mike, Chris, Fritz, Jack, Doris RIP. Thank you for all the joy y'all brought and still bring watching old footage. Takes me right back. Best to Kevin! He's still bad ass!! Off that top rope aerial slam!!! Bless the Von Erich Adkisson family. Hollie looks so much like Kerry!!!

    Wish they would have picked someone better to play Kerry. He was my favorite. Went all the time to see him. Had his pictures all over my bedroom wall. Still have my Kerry shirt.

      Yea, they could've shown more of how Kerry was personally. You could tell Kerry was a good dude. He took so much time to sign autographs and give time to us kids. It wasn't an act. Kerry was a good guy.

    Really loving these podcasts and learning more about the real stories. I loved the movie but I only knew some before watching it thanks to my parents being fans. Kerry I do remember as I was little when he showed up on WWE and him tagging with my favorite The Ultimate Warrior. I'm an author now too so I understand the changes as when you write historical fiction this happens as the story you're trying to tell comes first. But the actors did amazing, especially Zac and Harris. I had no idea Harris was British till after as I'd only seen him play Americans before so he nailed David's accent. Lol Jeremy was good too and I agree it weirdly still felt like his character from "The Bear". So the actors did good with the script they had.

    I was very torn on the portrayal of Fritz. Videos I’ve seen of him I can see a stern and tough man, but also a guy who seemed genuinely good and who I thought, “damn, I could have a talk with that guy forever.” The movie really ratcheted up the stern/tough side to the max to where it was uncomfortable. It’s nice to hear these 2 give a more balanced and more human portrayal of Fritz, especially because he can’t defend himself.

  • @tonyak8354

    Those of us who lived for this and looked up to Fritz and heard Kevin speak about him, will set anyone straight on the portrayal in the movie. Look up some old WCCW footage of Fritz being interviewed with his sons. Tgey could've done better portraying their popularity!! I lived there! When David passed, my mom had to take me aside to tell me and we both cried. That area was in mourning! It rocked the area! The ladies would lose their minds!!! We would leave hoarse voices from yelling. The north Texas area, Denton, DFW area, they were bigger than The Dallas Cowboys at the time! When Kerry beat Flair at Texas Stadium, the place was BOOMING!! When Kevin got injured by Chris Adams, people were in tears.

    They picked the perfect person to play Fritz. I just don’t like the way Fritz/Grand Dad was portrayed at all. At the very least Kevin should have been a consultant on the movie. I’ve loved the Von Erich family for 40+ years and will continue to love all of them. Thank goodness for WWE on Peacock so I can watch WCCW.

    My one and only wrestler growing up was Kevin. My most memorable moment was when I was in middle school where I got to go see wrestling in Howe Texas. I was an outcast little girl and I loved Kevin. I saw him and his brother stretching at the men's restroom and he saw me and did his finger to call me over. I was so shy but came over and he signed my photos I had of him. I was so excited that on Monday I brought the signed photos to my school and my teacher took them away from me because I was causing too much of a commotion. I was the the "pizza face" and "albino" and "boy" because of my short hair. This was my time to shine with my autographs from Kevin. The teacher never gave them back. I was devastated! I still love Kevin because he is such a family oriented baseline person. I feel a lot like him as I have have loved the earth and all it has given us. I was born in Hawaii because my dad was in the army with the band. We moved when I was very young back to Texas but my husband took me back to Hawaii for my 50th birthday and our anniversary. And now your family is back in Texas where I am also. I still watch wrestling and I see your sons doing great things and loved seeing them on AEW. Makes me feel young again. I would love one day to see the man who made an outcast little girl who has always felt a connection to you.

    Absolutely nothing against Jeremy, but how do you cast someone 5’7” to play someone 6’2” 250 and built like a Greek God?! Maybe Henry Caville (size wise and has the body from Superman)?

      The real problem is there was nothing to him. Physically Jeremy Allen White could never be Kerry but he's a great actor & he could've nailed a better written more complex closer to reality Kerry Von Erich & gave us a lot better Kerry than what we got

    For all the criticisms & problems I had with The Iron Claw I will also give them their due with how they brought the Sportatorium & the feel of World Class to life. That's why I was so blown away & loved the trailer because they nailed all that & thats why my hopes were sky high for the movie. Unfortunately the story itself was a major letdown to me & many other long time Von Erichs fans. As inaccurate & misrepresented as it is it did intro a whole lot of people to the real story & they're absolutely blown away by it & what was left out.
    Lastly, (10:40) Hollie I'm sorry Sean Durkin lied right to your face. He absolutely fumbled the portrayl of your dad.

    • @KNDAWG74
      @KNDAWG74 3 месяца назад

      Outside of Harley Race & the Hilariously awful Ric Flair, I thought all the recreations of World Class were great too. I can understand not recreating the Parade of Champions in Texas Stadium with Kerry beating Ric Flair for the NWA World title given that would've been expensive to recreate. But the Sportatorium scenes were fantastic.
