I think that is because kids want to seem older, but then teens and adults want to revive their childhood and splatoon's vibes take them back. Meanwhile the more mature and fast nature of FPS pleases kids.
I think a lot of Splatoon players are little kids. I know some kids who are really into the game. The only reason it doesn’t seem like the fan base has a huge kid audience is because obviously most kids aren’t on the internet and in the fandom.
@@basketman2517 yea that’s true. But with all the lore and how in depth everything is, a lot more teens and adults would understand it better. 0:50 The reason why they all have Splattershots is because the devs only had 10% of the game done. And they needed to have a preview, and a booth to play the game so they put some stuff together. They only had Inklings, Splattershot, UI, Urchin Underpass, some clothing, music, and Specials done. Well kinda done their more of a beta version of those things.
So exciting seeing the trailers again, had no idea splat 3 referenced splat 1 trailer even tho I've seen it. Very hyped for the new year and what we'll get next! Also I find it interesting how the trailers go from clear marketing to kids, to something more suitable for the teen range. Glad they figured that out haha
Remember when we thought curling bombs were like super seekers and were gonna be op cause of splat 2 trailer, and I think I watched like three theory videos on the roller flick in that same trailer (I was and still am a roller family main) and thought it was gonna revolutionize the entire game, when it was just roller jump buff...oh those were the days
If you confused on what I mean by roller family, Families includes all associated classes, a class includes all associated weapons. For example: Roller family includes Roller and Inkbrush, Roller Class includes Flingza, splat, carbon and dynamo. Families: Shooter, Roller, Charger, Splatling, and Blaster Families can also be branches of others: The splatling family is branch of shooters and chargers, the blaster family is a branch of shooters and rollers
Honestly S1 will always have the best hero shot imo, I just absolutely love how it was designed to look like a irl paintball gun. Plus it allowed me to make some nice combos asthetically w the paintball mask and I enjoyed it.
5:50 I really like how it's hovering over B as you give your explanation and then the F tier just fades in. It's so unprompted yet also perfect for what you're describing :P
I remember having the splat 1 single player trailer on repeat when it first came out. I love music synced trailers both back then and now. It also did a great job showing that the game was more than just multiplayer, especially with the fake out at the beginning. UGH I love this trailer, def deserved its placing.
I actually hated Splatoon based JUST off of the "you're a squid you're a kid" commerical. I did nottt like it and I bet that ppl really did not want it after that LOL
In the latest Splatoon 3 trailer I was loosing my shimata over the intro where there flying in on their coffee machines I find that so flipping cool and my wish which I think no else has is to have multiple entrances and you are either allowed to choose your entrance or it cycles through after every game so it's even more unique every match. It's such a little thing but I would love that sooooo much.
Splatoon 3's singleplayer worked so well because it referenced the first trailer but also because the hero mode seems to have improved so much. It almost felt like watching octo expansion being announced all over again, let's hope it turns out that way tho.
Everyone has there own biased/things that they particularly like about trailers. I personally probably would have evaluated the trailers based on how it personally made me feel rather than “how much it showed”. The feeling I was left with after the total surprise that was Splatoon 3 almost a year ago now, I will never forget.. …I’m old though
There was a short trailer for the first Splatfest a few days before the event itself, and there's a shot 54 seconds into that video which I'm pretty sure the pan around the Booyah Bomb at 23:06 is referencing. It's quite an obscure one, so I'm wondering if anyone else spotted it. Also ever since the time when Final Fest was happening, I figured that it being called 'Splatpocalypse' would be in reference to the apocalypse that wiped out humanity, but then assumed we'd get a story-focused spin-off game set in the past, which would dive into the rise of inkling society and perhaps the Great Turf War. I still didn't think it'd be a full-blown Splatoon 3 until the very moment the logo popped up, especially with the character creator being fully organic rather than just an abstract menu, so that reveal trailer held even more surprises for me.
Man, I remember seeing that first splatoon 2 trailer. I went CRAZY over it. I've only felt such amazing game hype like twice in my life. I'm not _as_ excited for splatoon 3, but still excited! I was kinda hoping for a more tropical vibe(or futuristic) with the maps and everything.. But with team chaos winning the final splatfest I suppose the wasteland thing makes sense.
I never knew about those trailers with quotes about Splatoon being esports (got into the scene after Splatoon 2 was already out). Strange that they picked the people they did to talk about it. TheRapture wore a lot of hats (Smash TO, commentator, OW commentator, apparently was a community mod on Squidboards when the game came out) but they have to have chosen him because he was in the Smash 4 Invitational. Justin Wong never seriously played a Nintendo game but is a great FGC rep that a lot of Smash players would have on their timelines on Twitter. It seems like Nintendo were trying to capitalize on the Smash community's grassroots success. Odd that they never tried to target shooter players by pulling in a CS player or something.
The very first trailer in this video showed off so many old stages and I have no idea how they would have been but it just looks so weird to see things like old Arowana and Walleye
I really wish they went with the original Saltyspray layout over the final one. Looked a lot larger and spread out, compared to its final, which is way too compact. Also RIP the Gas Mask Octarians. Looked like such cool enemies. Also real fast lets not ignore the Carbon at 7:42 trying to roll over a Brush that has no damage. (Or looks like it has no damage)
