My husband introduced me to this band. I am really grateful for it. We're in our 40's and can so easily get bogged down in our old 90's stuff, but he's always searching for new and exciting music. Slothrust is something I would have listened to in my 20's but somehow really appeals to me now.
Check out Forth Wanderers. I am the same way, I've played and burned out on all my 90's stuff and was that guy that said good music is dead for a while, but there are still so many great bands if you look hard enough.

This is always the album I turn to when I'm experiencing big feelings about my past trauma and for three years it has provided me with so much comfort. this song is for the dissociation/depression, shoutout to slothrust for making music that somehow perfectly captures the feelings I have.

not that anyone was asking for an update to this comment but 5 years later I've learned I likely have quiet bpd, and this album was my bpd moods album without me even knowing it. they were conforting me long before I knew what they were comforting me for 🥲
I found this song randomly yesterday on Apple Music and I instantly fell in love. I love the emotion and the passion and the voice. I just adore it all. I don't know what it means and yet it truly speaks to me. This is art.

I went to see this band play in a cave with Highly Suspect and instantly fell in love with their music. Honestly they're way too underrated, they kill it live. I'll definitely be going to their shows more often.

the manic street preachers have stole my heart now for 25 years - but it's nice to have that same innocence again before I discovered them, via this band... this band makes me feel the innocence. And that's not an easy thing to achieve...
This song reminds me of a line from T.S. Eliot, "I should have been a pair of ragged claws / Scuttling across the floors of silent seas" But in all fairness, it is sort of a power ballad. Very nice - I keep coming back to it

Sometimes romantasizing our depression can feel like all we have, especially when mental illness is an ever present part of our lives. Romantasizing our bad situations is a coping mechanism. It can be a good one or a bad one depending, in my opinion.

I don't think I've ever been in such awe after watching a music video. I had heard the song, yes, was already in love with it, but this video is so strangely normal yet beyond anything I've ever seen. I don't know how to describe it. I'd been wondering for a while if Slothrust is my favourite band ever, and this has just cemented it at this top spot in my head. I fucking love these guys so much.

@@yannickramault6378 it's not a ripoff. they both follow a I iii chord sequence, Horseshoe Crab being Amaj7 to C#min and Trains being C to Em. they both also throw a lydian chord in there, Horseshoe Crab with an Abmin and Trains with a D. The rhythm of the guitar riffs are similar, I'll give you that, but the chords are so common and mostly diatonic. Plenty of artists have used similar chord progressions. With that logic, you can argue Snuff by Slipknot was a rip off of Trains.
I like the production of both songs, both are different. I don't see why you think Trains' production quality is so superior.

I was already planning on going to Lollapalooza this summer and today I randomly came across slothrust only to find out that they are gonna be there and I can't wait to see their set. You guys have such a cool sound.
I saw you guys in Charlotte the other night (November 19th, 2019). Leah, you walked on stage, picked up your guitar and was getting yourself together, and I just started crying then and there. Utterly shocked. And then I cried at this, and I cried at Peach. And it was so beautiful, it was so amazing. My friends and I were some of the only people dancing, which is such a shame. Y'all deserve a more passionate crowd. You met some of my friends, actually. Elliot, short with green hair and glasses, Jacob, tall and gangly, and Steven, tall fluffy blond. They were all starstruck and kept talking about you. I wish I'd known, I would've loved to talk to you. Maybe you can come to Charleston SC and give me a second chance?
Edit: Elliot is actually my sister. She introduced me to both you and Highly Suspect. Seeing you and Highly Suspect with her was perfect, and I wouldn't trade that night for anything. She and I don't always get along. Thank you for being one of the things that keep us close
Genie I was there as well- right in the front row center stage- beautiful concert and I can firmly say I am now a fan of Slothrust whom which I previously didn’t care for.
Saw a glimpse of them at the Epicenter but only the end of their concert waiting for Knocked Loose- and didn’t really get enough out of it to say I liked them.
Blew both me and my girlfriends socks off how good they were
I was at this show, too! Rocking out but really disappointed in the amount of people who talked through the set. They were incredible!!

Just listened to Sant & Johnny - Sleep Walk and wondered what a doom metal version of that would sound like.... which lead me to a cover by these fine people.... I wasn't sure what to think... dug a bit deeper.... the feeling, the chord changes, the melancholy, the cryptic meaning that feels like only I understand...
