Your video is excellent for caring for baby chicks. As I am scrolling through the comments, I see you critizing people for making suggestions on how to improve your habitat for your chicks. There is no need to be rude to them, they are trying to improve your habitat better and your chicks can have a better life. Think before you type.

+stuffedchicken420 it wasnt meant to be rude, it just brings down the quality of the video itself, it would be better if you just took a bit of criticism. That is the internet, giving feedback. Not being rude to people making suggestions.
@Kellibells897 I give them the medicated feed till they have most of their feathers.. From that point I feed them pellets for normally for "meat" birds. At about 6 months, I give them layer feed. I'm in it for the eggs.
good video, but I have some questions ... 1) why not poke some holes in the plastic bin for better air circulation ? or would it be bad for sustaining the heat/warmth ? 2) adult chicken can harm and kill baby chicks, wouldn't the older chicks here be dangerous to the baby ones ? 3) water is naturally acidic, how would adding an acid like vinegar neutralize it ??
just starting in the past few weeks myself with chickens, this is what I learned (thank goodness for the poor birds sake) one always have water available at all times, two keep a heatlamp to the side of a enclosure so it dont get to hot and if they get hot they can move to the other side of the pen, third always handle them gently and early otherwise you may end up with skittish older chicks like mine who dont mind me standing and feeding and do things just dont reach and touch them they flee, I have done everything I can to gain their trust, I am a failure at this, I also learned about diamatomous earth for internal and external parasites, about grit, I also have a fully practically predator proof coop for them at night, they have dark shade underneath the shed, they have a tree overhead for shade, always use plenty of bedding and I like to use that coop deoderant beads, they rae made of organix things like bran etc. to absorb oders, but still have not found a sifting fork with prongs close enough to sift the poop from the bedding so I dont have to do a comlete clean out every few days. plastic is my least favorite materail to use for any animal, I like the lid idea tho, that keeps predators like cats and dogs that are nosy out and protect from overheating too. I think those chicks are just to adorable for words.
When small they are very cute. That lasts about a week then they go through an ugly stage. Then they start turning pretty again. LOL. My wife just built a coop and is raising them in the Philippines. Here in the Philippines, they cost about $.50 each and mature in 35 Days. The real cost is the food. They eat A LOT. Notice the capital letters on A LOT.
That's a great start. I have 6 chickens and 2 are mine 2 are my brothers and 1 for my mom and 1 for my dad and they are 1 month old and very sweet and I think I have the same feed as you lol
But personally I raise one chick and the container is bigger but u did great no criticism 😁 1 question are the chicks different ages just wondering some looked a bit smaller
Awesome!! am getting 10 chicks straight run.. I always buy them already grown but this time thought of buying them when they are chicks since my layers were killed by dogs.. :( Anyway, thanks for the idea.. I need to get the rubbermaid plastic and the lighting only.. I've got the rest.. Thank you for this video!! very helpful indeed!!
I am a chicken owner, i am expirience, d but in april i am getting 2 chicks for my birthday!! Dont your two bigger ones (bigger breeds, i think) Need less heat? They look a little older, with the feathers? I was just wondering incase i get a slightly older one too, what can you do about the heat ting? If one is too hot, the other too cold?
Hey I'm getting chicks and I live in California but I don't know if I should let them drink tap water or water from our fridge or bottled water? Please answer fast
Great video, thanks for sharing and ignore the ranting of the poor shortsightedness of people. Question: Why did you add vinegar to the water? I understand the pH will become acidic.. What is your reasoning for this? Thanks again
great vid, thankyou :) i think you need a bigger storage bin tho, especially as they will be growing? also i dont understand why u put apple cider in it, please tell me??!! x
Too small, for the bigger ones. The small ones would do okay, but the bigger ones need more space. Have them outside instead, in something bigger, like a cage with some chicken stuff in it, to make it less boring for them.
+Axemon you could just cover them in something another way to get them warm. By the way, Make sure the air enters to them if not they die. Delrosss has cleared the comments above.
My baby chick I would always put her or him on the food dish and the dish was tall and he couldn't fly so he would just chill there and when he got bored he would chirp and I would take him down off of the food and we left him and another chicken that I got and went on a trip and came back. and surprise! ,Chicken graffiti!, poop on the wall!
+stuffedchicken420 HEY HOW DARE YOU im just sayin DONT put bricks in a coop for CHICKS *mumbles bitch* coming from the name of someone called +stuffedchicken420
jennifer rubio Yeah, I used to have 2 chicks until one died by jumping in a bucket of water and couldn't get back up. The other chick was fine because I always gave it company and it loved it and didn't die of depression thankfully. :)
i'm not sure about the bricks. what if a chick is next to it, and another on top... the chick will fall on the brick that fell on the other chick. *So not safe*

Apple cider vinegar is added to naturalize the Ph of the water.
You can use lemon juice instead of the vinegar.
stuffedchicken420 even if you use bottle water?

Wtf i dont remember writing this even if i did i was probably 7
My new chicken is so cute !!!
Thank you for posting. I was originally going to just use a cardboard box, but the lid is a good idea once they learn to fly.

I've found mine get grain in the water probably what is in their beak.
Build a coop with a large run for them, keep it clean, make good with your neighbors...

Where did you buy those things, and how do you change thier littler. I got a few chicks and they seem very uncomfortable.
