- We took a trip to explore the beautifully varied Spanish Island of Fuerteventura. It is part of the Canary Islands off the coast of NW Africa with a flight time of 4.20 (London - Fuerteventura) we found some very reasonably flights (£95 return) and with an average temperature of 18 degrees even in Jan it is a great place to come for sun all year round. Fuerteventura has a very varied landscapes from Dunes and white sand beaches in Corralejo (North), volcanic mountains running through the center of the island. Black sand beaches of Playa Ajuy (West), Crystal blue waters in the Lagoon and of course the stunning views and expansive beach of Cofete (South West).

We hired a car and started exploring straight away with so many beautiful white/black sand beaches and turquoise seas you want to make the most of your stay on the island. You can drive the length of the island in 1:45h from Corralejo (North) to Morro Jable (South) making the whole island accessible for your stay. I was really impressed with the roads there are many brand new 2 lane motorways being built, the single lane roads can be a bit hairy when you get up the into the mountains but take your time especially at night and you will be ok. We stayed in the North of the Island in Corralejo in an AirBnB (linked below) we picked this town as it seemed to have a good vibe about it, it is small but has everything you need with tonnes of good restaurants and bars (links below)
There are so many things to do in Fuerteventura, we just got a taste for the Island and were looking for a relaxing break so spent most of our time soaking in the sun and taking pictures of the beautiful landscapes. If you are excited to get out and do rather than see then you can try your hand at surfing, kite surfing, Kite Hyrofoiling, para gliding, paddle boarding, jet skiing and many other activities.
If you are a slower paced kinda doing person to relax there are yoga retreats, culinary experiences, a gin distillery and boat tours to name a few.
Car Hire:
It is possible to stay on the Island without car hire but the price of €76 for 8 days of car hire (Citroen Cactus) with AutoReisen it just made sense for us to explore at our own leisure. Car hire always feels a bit of a gamble especially when dealing with companies outside of the big names (Europcar, Enterprise, Hertz etc) AutoReisen were really good there was no pressure to add on the expensive excess insurance and smooth and fast pick up / drop off.

Hi Richard, really great footage there of Fuerteventura. I see you have the Mavic Air as well, did you use Polar Pro filters all the time when you're filming? Do you do lots of colour grading in post?
I have ND filters, they aren’t Polar Pro but they do a descent job (links in description) I use them pretty much all the time. I don’t grade too hard but shoot in ‘CineD’ profile which is pretty flat so needs tweaking to get a nice image.

@@RichardManningCreative Last year i didn't have much time to practice with the drone as i went to Georgia for a few weeks and then went to Pakistan. Next year i'm hoping to do more travelling and the Mavic Air is ideal. Thanks for the link to the ND filters, they seem much cheaper than Polar Pro.
@@RichardManningCreative I just re-watched the Pakistan one and it was cool. It's just a shame the weather turned when we got to the glaciers otherwise it would have been an even more stunning trip.

@@RichardManningCreative Ha, no it's good, I did feel irritated at the beginning, but didn't mute the sound as I usually do when that happens; then, as the seconds went by, I began to feel an eerie calm, it perfectly matched the visuals.
