These slow-motion videos will always be watched and referred to over and over. Thank you for making them. Because you have made them I can see what happens to the stitch when I'm tinking it which helps me understand patterns better. Thanks again!
A friend of mine showed me a method where you turn your work backwards, pull on the working yarn and put your needle in the opening where the working yarn goes in( essentially putting the stitch back onto the other needle) and pull the yarn out. For me it's a much easier way to tink. I've tried the method you are showing and it wasn't as easy, at least for me anyway. I've also learned how to tink SSK and K2Tog as well as cables with the method my friend showed. It's really important to be able to recognize the stitches and to know how to tink. Sometimes, you do have to frog but if you are really paying attention to your rows, frogging isn't necessary, in my opinion. Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful. :D
This is just what I needed! My wife taught me how to knit a couple weeks ago and I’m doing good, but when I mess up I ask her to show me how to fix it. She doesn’t explain well and does it for me really quick. Thanks so much!
Your slo mo videos are so helpful! At first, I’d come to them after other videos weren’t helpful to me. Now I start right with you and get just what I need. Thank you so much!
i just want to say, i have come first to your channel for any knitting help. from dropped stitch to tinking. your making my knitting journey possible. so many times before i learned from you if i made a mistake i'd either fudge it and have a sloppy mess or my number 1 choice was frog the whole thing and start again, pretty much all i learned doing that was how to do the long tail cast on very well. now i a making progress to finished items. Thank you so very much.
Thank you for creating your visual instructions on knitting. I myself always wanted in it but don't have time because of school. However I do like watching videos on it, I always imagined one day when I have time, I would knit all these cool stuff for myself. I do not have family members who could pass down their knitting knowledge. It's nice to see that there is nothing like this that could really help me if I get the time to start. Thank you very much. These really does help
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I started knitting in 2008, and you've been an inspiration. Wish you did knit alongs! God bless.
Oh ha ha! I've been tinking my current project - a Cornish Fisherman's Guernsey - several rows back. I'm using a fine wool on 2.5 mm needles and with 372 stitches on the needles I was just too scared to pull the needles out! So this video, coming up now, made me laugh! I watched it anyway, because I love your videos!
Wait this is tinking? I’ve been doing this since I started. I hate dealing with a lot of stitches that are off the needle, so I started doing this. Thanks for the video!
Instead of going thru the front of the stitch, go thru the back and off. They will be mounted as if slipped kwise, but can be remounted or simply knit thru the back. I hope this helps. It's what I do. (And a lot sometimes.)
@@LittlePrairieLibrary I'm just glad I could help. I usually don't say it clearly or properly for anyone to understand but me. I do it a lot, so I guess you could call me an expert on tinking. (LOL)
This video was nice to see and will no doubt reference in the future but I have a challenge for you 😬 as it could not help my situation and I have not found anything that exists to help 😫... I joined my 100 kp longtail cast on in the round by swapping first/last stitches per your wonderful video 😁, however as I worked my first round kpkp... I managed on the last stitch 🤦🏻♀️ to drop the last stitch 🙄 after many attempts to correct I ended up with a huge mess. I could easily find my initial slip knot to replace on my rt needle but my rt side (initial swapped final purl cast on stitch) stitch which should have sat proudly on the left needle happily awaiting its next stitch, disappeared. I was left with one long bar and my freed tail end 😮😢 Please Help! 😬😬😬

Hello Stacy! Thank you for all your videos, all so very helpful :-) I’m new to knitting and currently working on a project mixing knit and purls on the same row to create a skull and bones design. For some reason over the last 2 days I keep making mistakes like for example purling too many stitches. No big deal, easy fix: tink back to where I’ve made the mistake. BUT because my stitches are pretty tight and I can’t see properly I sometimes pick the stitch below the one I’m supposed to tink... the result is like a dropped stitch that doesn’t ladder since the stitch below is on the needle. The first few times I’ve painfully frogged back a few rows. Have you ever come across this mistake ? Is there an easier way to fix this ? As I said I’m new to knitting and I’m finding hard to get my head around it lol
This video should help you - it shows how to recover a dropped stitch (which is what you have there, even though the stitch from the row below is on the needle) and shows how to recreate both knit and purl stitches: ruclips.net/video/Da79sRCWgw4/видео.html
I followed the instructions but my stitches ended up backwards on the needle. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to do something different because I knit continental? I love your slow mo videos BTW!
No...you don't have to do anything different as a Continental knitter. If the stitch is twisted, you can just take it off and twist it the correct way, put it back and keep knitting. But the stitches won't get twisted if you tink the way I've shown in this video.

I used to pull it all out and start over. Now I have the power of the tink. Thank you so much 😊

This is probably my best skill, since I am a RUclips taught knitter, LOL.

Duh! I was too new to know there was a difference in how you undo knit and purl stitches. Very helpful tutorial!!
This is neat. Figured how to unknit the basics on my own. Tinking. Always wondered what that was. Thank you!
Omg yes! Thank you for making this video 😊 I knew there had to be an easier way! Thank you for accepting my video request 👍
Brilliantly helpful, and I didn't know there was a name for it, thanks.

Please do a slow motion video on how to tink when you have a yarn over stitch or a knit two together situation.thanks
This just saved me thank you!
Oh my goodness! Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video....i never knew how to do this......thanks good to learn.......
This is very helpful! Bookmarking for later use. (Oh, I'll need it!) :D
So helpful! Thank you.
Thanks for this very helpful video. Could you also make a video on how to correct dropped ktbl and ptbl stitches, Thanks!
This is great! I'd love to see how you tink decreases, because whenever I tink an SSK I'm never sure if it's right!

The technique is exactly the same whether you're working flat, or in-the-round.
