    I have been paying sales tax in Texas for orders I send in my state so etsy also has been so am I paying double I’m confused if etsy is sending taxes does that mean I don’t have to remit taxes for my state sold on etsy

      Hi Deborah, yes, it sounds like you have been paying money to Texas that you do not need to pay. Etsy has been collecting and remitting sales tax on all Texas sales for several years. So you do not have to pay that sales tax to Texas, Etsy is already doing it. You may still need to submit a sales tax return, you just wouldn't pay sales tax on Etsy sales with that return. If you make sales in person, or on another platform, then you probably need to collect and remit sales tax to Texas.

    Hi I've been using your amazing journal entry method and want to ask how I should enter the US taxes collected by Etsy (I am in Canada). I have to separate the Canadian taxes now since Etsy doesn't collect anymore so I have to enter in the journal that a particular amount was retained and collected by Etsy, that the amount is never actually deposited into my bank account. Help? thanks
