@@SoloAnimetoryou missed the gold era, it’s a bit more calm but this agent might shake things up a bit. I would start playing once she releases playing a bit more casually and getting practice for the different agents and then when the new season starts buy the pass (for 10$) and really go ham.
Plus with the new map coming in the next act… you really want to get practice with how the game is currently before that gets thrown in.
It’s basically CS:GO with abilities.
So, clove's superpower is taking acid in active warzones. Neat.

Dropping a new agent before the replay system is still crazy to me
You are on very high copium. It took over 6 years after they announced it to come out for league of legends. Valorant has barely been out for half that time and the replay system has only been anounced for like 2 years. My guess we get it sometime 2026. Riot just likes to make stuff needlessly perfect, instead of releasing functional and improving over time.

These agent trailers keep getting better and better over time
I feel the exact opposite. They have been getting worse and worse. They get less creative (nothing new, just recycled old utility stitched together), less fleshed out characters and lore and when they come out are way too weak, so the game is just as stale as it was before. Ever since Astra release agent design has been on a steady decline and has reached an all time low with Deadlock, Iso and now this.

What's interesting to me is that it seems like Clove chooses to come back. They've died several times but it does seem they have gotten to the point of wanting to comeback and the allusion to Gekko/Chamber makes it seems they come back for their friends (and the very first time they experienced this they didn't know what to do). Seems quite powerful lore wise.

I think so far we know that they are from the Edinburg (place in Northern UK I definitely spelled it wrong tho) and they are completely immortal. I REALLLLLY hope they have interactions with Omen since Clove essentially has immortality like him but with less strings attached?

Lore wise, I think it's still up in the air to how they joined Valorant. However this video does seem to suggest they've died several times but has a choice whether to come back or not (like in-game) but from the first time they experienced it, they were scared and didn't know whether or not to come back (I feel like its an allegory for being in the closet). It seems they got more confident in themselves and who they are and their friends (i.e Gekko/Chamber here) are a big reason they stick around. That being said, they do seem to be one of the more adept Radiants in terms of controlling their power.
Atleast now I don't need to stress if my duelists don't do their work.
