This is a truly wonderful project! The transformation of these ponds is inspiring. Often, people are unaware of how to approach authorities to initiate similar projects and end up doing nothing. Efforts like this not only enhance the beauty of the surroundings but also contribute significantly to improving the water table and supporting agriculture. It would be amazing if The Hindu could document this as a case study to guide the common man on how it was accomplished, making it easier to replicate. Additionally, showcasing such success stories to the authorities could help bring more ponds and lakes under their attention for action. Thank you for sharing this inspiring story!

Another important dimension is ground water level maintenance. We need such massive tanks every few kms for our ground warer levels to remain maintained

No use depending on this state government, people are taking matter into their own hands and successfully completed the project 👍🏻💪🏻👌🏻

The Collector and Deputy Collector clearly stated that the PWD and local administration were very much involved in this project. PWD and local administration are under the state government.

Of course they can apply their sticker 🙋🏻or else they won't even allow this people project to proceed further, if they care so much, then they could have allocated the funds & cleared this up a long time ago 🤷🏻

ADMK or DMK gangsters where preparing the “dry” lake as plots and there “people” idiots ruined it all. What a shame.

NHAI should undertake such projects so that they get tonnes of soil meanwhile cleaning a lake for free.

islands are missng. It would have been beneficial to birds, ecology and cost effective if islands were built with silt in the middle of this tank.
