I haven't been watching the series lately but found myself falling back in love after hearing about Varian's fall. After watching this episode, I went back and watched Varian's story. My theory is that knowing Cassandra is adopted, she could possibly be related to Varian. It may be possibly her father is in that amber. Also she touched the reverse incantation & burned her hand, placing armor on herself to stop the pain. We don't know what she saw in that room, it may be possible her arm is the cause of her family.
Impossible, she fell to her death and died of old age before she had the chance to de-age herself. Unless she somehow made a clone of herself, i don't see her returning
