Develop an abstract and impressionistic style in your landscape paintings with acrylic and create scenes using your imagination with Jonathan Newey (@jonathan.newey.art). This 4-part course runs from July 13th to August 31st and includes a Live Feedback Session, streaming every Saturday at 12 noon Eastern Time.
You will learn which tools and materials to use to produce ideas on paper and transform them into finished paintings, mastering skills like composition, colour selection, glazing, and gels and mediums. Jonathan will demonstrate how to apply acrylic paint, both thick and thin, using brushes and palette knives and how to respond to the paint on your canvas. This approach allows you to paint freely from your imagination without worrying about detail and structure, leveraging the quick-drying properties of acrylic paint to revise areas you are not satisfied with easily.
