You are great Shea! Don’t ever apologize for any of this....I’m an older mum married with four kids and barely get a moment to myself but your tips really save me time! And we did the same with our kitty 😂😂😂
o w o yes!!! When you own a significant amount of black items, instead of so much waste, just dye them in bulk periodically. Especially if they are classic pieces that you love. Those yellowed whites could also get a new color. They even make affordable dyes for synthetic fabrics now.
J J I always use the regular Rit dye for cottons. There’s another by Rit called dyemore for synthetics and it is also good. The only fabric I have had trouble dying with either of those is nylon, even though the dyemore says nylon will take. The nylon takes on a subtle version, so black has actually come out grey.
this is my second video and i just love how the intros are so friendly and how you don't cut out the parts when you make a derpy mistake or anything like that.. it's like getting fashion advice from a friend or an older sister :)
My mom crocheted yarn on our plastic hangers to keep clothing from falling off the hanger when I was young (in the 80s, yes I’m old...). This was prior to felt/velvet hangers being available. I have many from when I was a kid, & still use them. If you have yarn and can crochet, viola.
I worked as a sales assistant and yes, those stringy things are used for hanging, but mostly in stores to prevent clothes from sliding off the hangers.
I was doing a photo shoot once and I didn’t realize till AFTER it was all done and over with that I had like 4 hair ties on my wrist. 🤦♀️ totally messed up the pics
1. Love the hair! Very siphocated! 2. I am always telling my friends/family that their hanger straps are showing! I chop mine off immediately. 3. The belt you added to the dress at the end was genius! Form fitting clothes are a game changer.
The little strings in tops and dresses at the shoulder help the store staff hang up the clothes and make them stay on the hanger. Stores usually have plastic hangers and the clothes slide off easily, and they are sooo long because they actually loop the string over the hook of the hanger, so right string to the left and vice versa to secure the clothes to the hanger. They do this every evening or morning to items that were tried on, so when you go in the seem more "new" and untouched.
Seeing you with your hair up is so refreshing since you always have it down! I like it a lot! I also really like that you are honest and admit you make these mistakes and then share it with us ❤️
Thos little stringy things found under the shoulders of dresses, tops and sweaters are not to help you hang them up in your own wardrobe at home but to keep them from falling off the hangers in the shops when people browse through the racks.
Noooo...don’t use the sticky lint rollers please. Try something like the Evercare Magik one you can find on Amazon. It’s like $8 and reusable. Plus...if you get eye shadow on your denim or something it actually will lift it!!! (not sponsored)
I use a silicone lint roller. When it stops working I rinse it clean with water and it's like new! It picks up my cat's hair just as well as a sticky roller. The only downside is if I keep one in the car, I can't easily clean it when it fills up. But if I keep a sticky roller in the car, all the sticky pages melt together and it becomes a one-time use too. Might need a lint brush for the car lol.
I will sometimes just use my straight iron I use on my clothes and iron out wrinkles that way. It's really handy to get my clothes unwrinkled when I'm pressed for time.
AAAAHHH your cat. a friend related the most adorable story about her neighbour's Maine coone like 20 years ago. She had a fur disease, so the vet suggested shaving most of her fur off. He then took them aside, they were worried he would tell them something horrible. He whispered "look. she knows something is different, but she isn't sure if anyone else is noticing." :))) "so please it's important for her psychological wellbeing the entire family should act as if nothing had happened at all". So the cat apparently for days closely watched her family who pretended everything was as always and sometimes burst into (muted) laughter once the cat had left the room. Poor kitty! it grew back beautifully though I'm told!
Oh! Forgot to mention, I have a pair of designer jeans, Ralph Lauren, I’ve had for 20 years! Classic fit and shape for my silhouette, in great condition, but faded. I revitalized them by using a dye in Blue Jean color. Italian washers are very different from US appliances, so I after doing proper research. I nailed it. You can easily use dye in a washing machine. Just run a cycle on empty, no clothes, to flush all dye from the machine to protect subsequent loads from getting tainted with the color. Now I will take your advice and turn inside out. Great tip.
You are just the best. You have a knack for giving tips and opinions without being condescending. Such a breath of fresh air amongst all the RUclipsrs.
I work in retail and you’re absolutely right about the little belt hoop strings and the string on the shoulder! They are purely to hang / display the item on the hangers in store so I highly encourage people to cut them off after purchase!
Beauty By Miri You can buy black dye kits for very little that you put in the washing machine with the pair of jeans. It is fabric dye. Here in Ireland your can buy them in craft shops or the drugstore for about 8 dollars. So worth it.
Desiree P The reason for that might be that you washed it in a cycle with pre-wash. It is very important to choose a program without pre-wash or if possible turn off the pre-wash and only wash in a long cycle.
I love how she tells us how outfits are ruined and she gives us how to fix them. I'm guilty tbh. Others just tells us how we ruin our outfits and no solutions at all.
The hanger assists (little stringy things) are to support the garment whilst they are hanging in your closet. Especially if it is a knit fabric, like that pink, fuzzy, knit sweater, or if it is heavy with beading or embellishments. If you don’t use them, you risk distorting the garment.
OMG I had a chain belt just like that to wear on my hand knitted dress I wore in 1968. As the saying goes, " everything that's old is new again". Really enjoyed your upload.
And, those tacking stitches on the back flaps and sleeves of blazers. I attended a wedding last month - please friends, give your SO an outfit pre-check for events like this. Love the hair because you can own any look. But, is it a bit staid for a vibrant being like you? ... maybe as an elegant style with formal wear. Addicted to your channel. ⭐️
Soaking dark colors in white vinegar before the initial wash will also help set the color, especially with dark washes and red garments. Also, remember to cut the "X" out of the back bottom of a skirt or blazer! Great video, thanks!!
If your black clothes start to fade, soak them in black fabric dye and then rinse with cold water. You don’t have to throw them away. I do this to match my black clothes as well when they’re different shades
Oooh I love those cute coil (spiral) hair ties! They look like cool bracelets if you HAD to put them on your wrist ..I have black and clear but I want more colors! I have thin hair ...they add volume when I wear my hair up 💁♀️

I don't usually wash denim, only if they have a stain that I can't spot clean. I put them in the freezer overnight or steam them, both extreme cold or heat kills bacteria.
I LOVE your channel. I’ve been in quite a fit style wise lately and have really looked to your channel for tips and inspiration. Thank you for being enjoyable to watch too!!
Shaniqua Newbold also clothing dye exists and it’s cheaper for us broke bitches that can’t always afford new clothes every 3 months. It’s saved my life several times 😂
OMG! Again I agree with you 100% I've even been using the velvet hangers for many years! You are my new hero! 😁💞💞 And I've had that steamer for years!! My husband even uses as much as I do! ❤️
Those ties at the inside top of the shirt are to help hold the clothes on the hanger. Certain items are difficult to keep on the hanger, especially slick materials like silk.
The strings really help hanging things in stores bc honestly the number of times clothes fall off bc they dont have those straps is frustrating especially busy days like boxing day where you're picking up the same jumper over and over again bc it's too big or wide or stretchy for the hanger so slides off!
Don’t use bleach all the time....it will give a yellowish tint after a while....there’s a product called “White Out”...it’s a powder that is specifically for all white clothes....it works wonders!!! I had a long ruffle type skirt (years ago that I absolutely loved!!) that had become very dingy and stained from the storage closet in the house that I lived in back then. I had washed it with bleach but it didn’t take out much....a family member recommended the White Out stuff to me so I went and bought it. Now, I did soak my skirt in water and the white out first then washed it with it (and a little soap) and it completely got everything off! It was so white, it looked brand new!!! AMAZING!! Oh and I always have a lint roller and I own two irons and 2 ironing boards! I can’t do wrinkles!! I’ll even iron my friends clothes if they come over wearing something wrinkled! LOL!
Thank you for pretty much always talking about blazers! I bought a couple and I always feel so much more put together and sophisticated when I wear them. And when my clothes get wrinkly I just close them in the bathroom while I have the shower running on hot!
BLACK RIT clothing dye, $3.00, sold at most grocery stores . Put your faded blacks ( shirts, jeans, etc) in the washing machine w/black clothes dye & at the end of the cycle, they will look new. Black laundry soap is good too, & it turns your clothes the same shade of black
I love your videos ... I can see that you actually enjoy doing them, can be silly and we enjoy it too ... it’s like watching a friend !! Some of your ideas are so basic yet genius

I hate those belt loops on dresses. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to cut them off. Thank you!!
Hollie Murphy right I was thinking the same ... 🤣 I always cut the plastic loop on the shoulder don’t know why never thought of this 🤦🏽♀️
I did this and the fabric tore. I sewed up the dress where the loop was, but just be careful how close you cut. :/
@Madalyn Martin That's a great idea. I'll remember that! Thanks.
Madalyn Martin I’m so bad with my hand that i cut the fabric with it once...
Sometimes it's so simple!🤔

Trueeee! Plus it’s better to freeze your jeans for 4-5 hours instead of washing them *if they aren’t dirty but need refreshing*
Also, besides washing the jeans inside out, put white vinegar instead of softener. The vinegar helps to keep the color. When faded, just dye it. ;)
