- After visiting Penang and Langkawi, we decided to travel to Semporna to experience its beautiful islands, including Mataking Island and Bohey Dulang Island. All together we saw six different islands and we had such an amazing time. Our favourite part was how friendly everyone was! Find out where we went and what we saw :)

What a stunningly beautiful place. The beach at Mataking was just gorgeous. I don’t blame you for wanting to go back !
Yes, the water is so clear 😍 We were amazed
I have just come back from Sabah a few weeks ago and went to Semporna - truly an amazing place
We are glad you had a good time! We cannot wait to explore more of Sabah :)
@@sylvieanddanny Sabah is a huge region but we did a few things there and seen the orang utans in the jungle. From Kota Kinabalu to Semporna was a very long distance
@brothersman524 We would love to see the Orang utans, too! You are right, it is really big, that's why we stayed in Semporna the first time we visited and decided we would come back to explore more :)
@@sylvieanddanny It was an amazing experience seeing the orang utans. We had to take the flight from KK to Tawau which was 1 hour, and then a car ride from Tawau to Semporna which was around 2 hours so it was a bit of a hassle getting there but definitely worth the journey.
OK Semporna Town isn't great but it is the gateway to those amazing islands of Pom Pom, Timba Timba, Mataking, Mabul and Sipadan what makes it truly amazing, The resorts on these islands are very expensive which is why we stayed at Semporna
Sipadan , mabul, layang-layang, kapalai - world class diving.
wonderful place, thanks for sharing this video
Thank you for watching 😊 We loved Semporna! We'd love to come back to Sabah to explore more beautiful places
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video n for showing your explorations in Semporna.
Thank you for watching, we are glad you enjoyed it :) Semporna is a beautiful place
@@sylvieanddanny 😀
There are so many beautiful islands in Sabah....it was Cristal clear water with white sands
So many places to explore! We hope we will be back soon to visit more of Sabah. Thank you for watching 😊
It was quite a fun hike even in the weather although some people had troubles due to the weather like some people got stuck on trees and the guide slipped. This video reminded me of the day. Thanks for coming to Bohey Dulang Island, hopefully we could see each other again in the foreseeable future. FYI, I was your guide while hiking and keep up the amazing work.
It was really fun! Sylvie was the one who got stuck on a tree aha. Thank you for being a great guide on that day and for watching. We're glad you enjoyed our video :)
Semporna is amazing...Beautiful beaches...Where are you from? Greetings from Venezuela!
Some beautiful crystal clear waters! Welcome to our channel, Danny is from England, and I (Sylvie) am from France.
Beautiful creation God has made!
It is indeed beautiful 😍 Thank you for watching

Majukan pelancongan malaysia.dan rumpai laut malaysia.
Hello 😊 Thank you for watching. We didn't know Semporna had seaweed farms. It is great to know. :)
Would like to go there someday Looked really chilled and relaxing.
Thank you for watching! We recommend it 💯 Staying in a resort on one of the islands would be even more relaxing :)
C'est le paradis 😊 🌴🐟
Sabah & serawak have many beautiful caves and beautiful island
Something else we will need to see. We really want to explore more of Sabah. Thank you for watching :)
Sabah is heaven for nature lovers,💕 beautiful mountain, wildlife, tropical islands etc
We would love to come back and do a river cruise to see some beautiful animals, including orangutans, and we would love to see mountains too, etc. We need to plan this 😊
@@sylvieanddanny yes, sepilok orang utan sanctuary is must visit if you love nature n animals, also the beautiful mount kinabalu
@@acerazak4087 Definitely :)
@@sylvieanddanny nice 👌 also must check the season when you plan to visit, avoid the raining monsoon season 🌧
@@acerazak4087 Very good point! We'll make sure we come during the right season
Just clicked this video while staying at cube station and what do you know.
Enjoy your stay in Semporna! :)
Cool accommodation
We had a really nice stay at Chans living :) We would stay there again!
Roti chennai named after chennai in India
The unfortunate thing about Semporna - and the reason I'll never go back - is that all the tourism money we bring there never actually gets invested into the city, hence the unfinished buildings and overall sense of poverty in so many areas of town.
The islands, hotels, and snorkel/dive companies that take you there are all owned by foreigners, so although it might seem like we're supporting the local economy, all of our money goes elsewhere and is never invested into the town and its people.
Instead of Semporna, treat yourself to a 3 day jungle expedition just outside of Sandakan, where you can see orangutans, pygmy elephants, rhinocerous hornbills and more all in their natural habitat along the banks of a river. THAT is a truly enjoyable experience.
Thank you for your insight! We would actually love to come back to Sabah to see the orangutans! Thank you for watching
sorry to say this but those kids begging for money are filipino kids and they are undocumented
Compared to philippines and thailand, it is not crowded.
Why most people going to Thai and Phil is because sex and beer....if Malaysia could offer this two thing as the major attractions.....I bet semporna will flood thousands of people from around the world...
Hope you guys enjoy yourselves!!!
One thing though, not a good idea to use the Msian Ringgit to fan yourself, just like you probably won’t use Pound or US Dollar to do that
Hello, we had an amazing time, thank you!
We get it. We didn't mean to be disrespectful or anything like this - it could have been any currency or anything else, to be honest (it was not intentional). But we understand your point. Thank you for watching 🙏
I think mataking and pom pom are private islands but you can swim around it of course.
It looks like there were accommodations on these islands. We saw a review of one of the resorts on Pom Pom Island and it looked amazing
@Sylvie and Danny yes the resorts owned the islands lol. Mataking has 2 islands linked by sandbar
@Sylvie and Danny I saw a vlog by jumping places channel. Mataking unfortunately some areas were affected by sea trash. Staff there are trying their best to clean beaches.
@@keangwooichoo6138 We didn't see too much of Mataking Island, but we did notice some plastic in the sea. Especially around Semporna. We are sure they are trying their best with it, this is something we noticed in other countries like Thailand and Cambodia too. Sylvie and her sister even spent some time cleaning a beach in Koh Lanta when they could.
@@sylvieanddanny sea trash is a serious issue along with global warming.
flora and note channel bring me here
Hello, thank you so much for coming here and watching! We hope you enjoy it 😊
Hi Sylvie! would you recommend it to female solo traveller? thank you! loved the video!
Hello, thank you for watching! Semporna town can be a little bit intimidating when you first arrive. However, everyone has been respectful and nice to me. Especially the girls on our day trips. They were very, very friendly and kind! So yes, as a girl I think you should be alright travelling alone. Also, we stayed in a hostel and it was almost empty (not too many foreign travellers). Sylvie :)
@@sylvieanddanny thank you so much for replying! Im ready to buy the ticket now! Thanks!!!
Wahou, ça change de la nature !
Mais que des endroits magique à visiter c'est incroyable et enrichissant.
Bravo et merci pour ce partage.👍
Des iles magnifiques 😍 Ça vaut vraiment le coup de visiter Semporna 💚
Hi, this may seem an odd question but I'm going Malaysia in a few months however I am very scared of big spiders (and I know that they can be very big over there). Did you encounter any and was it often? If so what's the best way to decrease the chances?
Hello, we travelled to different places in Malaysia (KL, Penang, Langkawi, Semporna) we can not remember seeing big spiders or anything like this. Just geckos most of the time and some cockroaches :) Enjoy your time in Malaysia
Sabah Philippines 😮
keep on dreaming dude
Could you let me know the hotel name you stayed in Semporna?
Hello, we stayed at these two hotels: Cube Station Hostel and Chan Living. The links are in the video description :)
Timba-timba is a sandbar.
You're right, thank you for watching :)
can you share your sabah itneary please?
We flew to Tawau Airport (around 1h away), where we had a pick up pre booked from our hostel: The Cube Station Hostel.
We stayed in Semporna town, right by the water so it was easier to access the different tours available.
First, we went on the Mataking + Timba Timba island hopping tour.
Then on the Bohey Dulang Hike with Mantabuan & Sibuan Islands tour
You can also do the Mabul island tour (we didn’t)
Then we moved to Chan Living hotel outside Semporna town to enjoy the swimming pool, and the quieter area. We went on the TAMAN BUKIT KUALA BIBANG walk.
We would like to come back to explore more :)
Does a uk citizen need a visa to entry sabah sempurna ?
Hello, you get 3 months visa free for Malaysia, and you just get stamp to say you are entering Sabah :)
Thanks
which one is cheaper between Seychelles and Semporna?
Semporna will be. Also, it depends on what type of accommodation you are staying in and where (in Semporna town - a lot cheaper or in a resort on an island). But food and activities will be a lot cheaper in Semporna than in Seychelles. Probably the flights as well. If we were to go back to Semporna we could go back to Chan' s living (we loved it), but we would also want to stay on an island Mabul or Pom Pom. In Seychelles, we stayed on La Digue island (beautiful and peaceful). We hope this helps :)
@@sylvieanddanny thanks for the answer
@@markzzzzberg1312 No worries :)
