Mission Level: 135
Oda Nobunaga is boss #34 in Nioh. The fight ends automatically in a cutscene when his health drops below 25%. He uses a sword and all types of elemental magic to enhance his weapon. Use a spear in mid stance and dodge all his attacks. After dodging, attack 2-3 times with strong attacks (Triangle). This will drain his KI very quickly and you can follow up with a powerful finisher. When he does a sword dash, dodge behind him. For all other attacks dodge away from him, let him miss, then poke him with the spear 2-3 times. When his KI is very low keep attacking to break his guard.

team ninja is the developer. Koei are the Publishers. And you can tell, the assets are very similar to the Ninja Gaiden games of last generation.
tharbk01 No, team ninja and omega force are just two brands under koei tecmo games. There is a CG team that more often provides model for both brands, and some other brands under KT.
Tl;dr you can say this game is developed and published by koei tecmo.

@@DenisPereira He was an eccentric, weird, showy, flashy, boisterous and flamboyant lordling who as a youth wore various colored ribbons in his hair, dressed like a bandit/kabukimono, and spoke like a village thug. He hung out and wrestled with peasants and his retainers young sons irregardless of his station, and he liked getting drunk and dancing--(especially the Atsumori) he even learned women's dances. Nobunaga just didn't think like other Japanese people.
When he got older he retained his stylishness and loud sense of display. His western red hat became a rallying symbol in his camp. He and Ieyasu wore Spanish plate rather than their native yoroi as it gave them better protection, and he wore a stylish red cape. Azuchi castle is also loaded with august symbolism and despite being meant to spite him, he embraced the Rokuten Daimaou/Demon King nickname because he thought it sounded cool.
He liked to collect Renaissance era western furniture and both foreign and native tea sets. He apparently liked sponge cakes. He was also the first Japanese man to taste a banana allegedly. And his unfinished dream was to cross the pacific ocean. Also, while he never converted and was never baptized he had a Christian/western name: Geronimo.
Nobunaga was a lot of things. Ruthless, hot temperes, brilliant, godless, fine. We can debate all that. But the one thing he can't be called by anyone is boring.
Oda was like a peacock. Loud, flashy, stylish. A peacock is also the mount of a Hindu god of war.

he was like a diplomat not a warrior
He defeated his brother's army at the Battle of Ino which was more than double the size of his own army. He then proceeded to assassinate his brother and gradually eliminated all opposition from within the clan. Thus, ruthlessly unifying the province.
At the Battle of Okehazama, the forces of three clans combined which amounted to 25,000 soldiers to take on Nobunaga 2000-3000. His advisers tell him to stand a siege. What does he do? He dismisses this strategy and opts to counter-attack the Imagawa forces. This established his position as one of the most powerful warlords in Japan.
Oh did I mention that he killed his brother-in-law who his sister truly loved and wiped out the entire clan. He had his infant nephew murdered and displayed his head on a stake!
This man was ambitious, courageous and ferocious. This man was a beast!
Fun Fact: Nobunaga Oda is voiced by legendary Yoichi Erikawa a.k.a Kou Shibusawa, the man who co-founded Koei, the President & CEO of Koei Tecmo and the creator of the Nobunaga's Ambition (1985-present) and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (1985-present) Game Series.
I loved how, in Nioh 2, Nobunaga was not in the intermission, showing that what he said in both games was true; "He may die before fulfilling my ambitions, but he will have no regrets." And it was true. He was about to take Japan, he was betrayed by his own, but he left without any resentment. And at the end "I'll let the monkey and the raccoon continue the play", will it also be a nod to Hide?
monkey is Tokichiro and Tanuki is Iyasu, because of their guardian spirits

I am going through my first playthrough, very difficult but I managed to beat him first try. His lightning stance was a trial, and I couldn't dodge his second thrust dash in time. When the cutscene came, I came not with joy, but absolute relief

It could be, but i think he more likely referred to Iyeasu, since He and tokichiro followed his trail by unifying Japan And Tokugawa was referend to asi tanuki, i think the Spirit Animal Tokugawa has Is also an tanuki.

As someone who's recently gotten very into Nioh, I feel like I should point out that, and with no disrespect, the player literally spammed mid-stance spear poke, which is basically a "win button" against human opponents. This boss has much, much more depth and difficulty to him than shown in this video.
Devs shouldn't have made him exploitable then

Wait? This looks like the same kind of area as the last boss... It's still generic sword play and easy dodges with the occasionally extra sword swing in a different direction, not to mention you only have to get him to 1/4 health before it's over. Pyx is this boss fight the only part of this level or is there more to it?

the music and the cut scenes blend in nicely, only the dialogues made me confused

Nobunaga's appearance in this game is basically one of his looks from one of the Nobunaga's Ambition games, another one of Koei-Techmo's franchises, with white hair.

well, it's mainly a historic character. Nobunaga is actually more often in Samurai Warriors or the Sengoku Games, also Warriors orochi. Nobunaga, for example, will 90% of the time ALWAYS has that appearance if you look at the many games he's in. He's not using a gun though as some other games give him. Any game that puts the Japanese lords in it as characters gets my attention of how they depict them. Guan Yu is another historic character that's been getting alot of spotlight in games and anime lately and he's always a major part in the dynasty warrior games from the Chinese generals.
anyhow, It's about time Capcom bring back Onimusha though. I miss that series with a passion.

He doesn't really win, Nobunaga was at around half health when the fight ended. And really, if you're overgeared/leveled it's going to be easy no matter what.
