if you jump into the void it checks the fall damage u will take. if the fall damage is lower than your current hp, you get sent to layer 2. however, if the fall damage is greater than ur current hp, like in your case, u will just take the fall damage and die to the void killbricks

I don't get this. I've cheated in various video games when I was younger, and it always became boring after 20 minutes. You're not even ruining someone else's day through PvP, which I could imagine would be entertaining for someone with low self-esteem.
It's probably a more nuanced version similar to the above mentioned reason, maybe it's the hate watchers you're trying to piss off.
