Thank you!! You’re the only guy I’ve actually seen review this. Was gonna get one for my 87 trans am and my plugs are way worst than yours so I’ll just use the basic tools.

Just did this on my Tj. FYI an inch and 5/16 socket fits perfect inside these freeze plugs. Works a treat!

I got this tool off of Amazon and it looks like im having the same kind of lucky you had. Looks like ill be sending this back. Removal with a punch and slide hammer then installing with a socket and a hammer.

Yeah, poor condition aside I figured it would be a huge help in the tight spots but I don't think the threads are big enough for the tool to work as intended. Maybe someone will figure out a better way someday. Thanks for watching, have a good one

@phillippianriley You'd think, issue is it was impossible to get the tool in until the hole got to that point. It did grip very briefly but the grip around the plug against the engine was stronger than the metal at the center. I think the tool would have worked better with threads that were further apart to keep the center smaller and then the pilot hole wouldn't have had to be nearly the same size as the screw. I'm sure for some it could work but the point is it's not the one size fits all option and a quick hammer will do a better job because if you have room to drill you have room to hammer.
