Absolutely love this civ, this update has been mega
As much as i love playing the Japanese so far, i met a complete road block last night against Delhi with their Ghazi+ToV Archer combo, there was nothing much i could do
I guess mixing samurai with spearmen and having a bunch of horsemen for archers could work
Possibly onamusha plus knights
just spear and horseman with knight banner, follow this guide and you have nothing to be worried about. Your horseman will fight equal to gazi raider due to banner knight. nice thing about this build is, you are the one going in, so you don have to kite.
Yea, I ran into order of the dragon feudal rush. Japan can’t really counter those heavy units that early.

I like the Onna too, because they're fast, cheap, and have great range. Supplement a group of samurai with some of these to quickly hit several times from behind the tanky samurai, or else send a herd of them to take some villagers out then escape from archers

I had a good chuckle when you pronounced “manor” correctly at the start of the video then went right back to the normal way you’ve been saying it 😂 you were right the first time though, it’s pronounced exactly like “manner”.

It's a little daunting to learn all this though, at least that's how I perceive it. Not only the own BO, but also what the other nations can do etc.
The Build Order ist very good. But its so hard to understand. While you are explaining the 3 Foodworkers to build the Storehouse, the stonefarmer already moves to gold
7:24, you missed something very important ? Or am i wrong ? Daimyo upgrade it gives you instantly one villiager for free if you don't have in queue any other villager while Daimyo it's upgrading it !
Love your stuff dude, especially the advanced build orders for the new civs - very helpful. Would love to see some advanced shinobi strats as well. I've been playing a lot of Japanese but the shinobi seem a little gimmicky to me?

I just used this build in my 4th placement match for the new season, and I whipped my opponent so badly that I caused a swearing rage quit for the first time!
vs Ottoman, he didn't go 2tc and after a long (and strong) feudal age, I put Yorishiro into 2 of my barracks, one farmhouse and one forge. The samurai spam couldn't be stopped!
I had to make a small adjustment because timing wasn't quite adding up during practice - did 2 to stone and 2 to sheep for steps 5 and 6, then after a couple returns I moved that sheep vill to stone. It ironed everything out.
Can you do a matchup guide for someone playing China into the Japanese? The only 2 times I played vs Japan today was awfully scary.
dont know if its a patch or something can spawn 2 villager after i upgrade the daimyo palace

Hi Aussie have you tried this just simplifying the start order aswell or is this absolutely the optimal way of getting the storehouse down and Daiymos up?
tried to simplify it, but it just makes it worse because we have to transition villagers from different resources rather than just send them and forget.
Hello, I am AoE4 noob. I noticed a couple people say Japanese is good Feudal, but BeastyqtSC2 said Japanese are very bad Feudal. How come there is a big disparity in agreement here?

It's because it's a brand new civ, metas are still being theory crafted and not everyone has the same opinion on each civ's role currently.

As much as I like the intricacy of this build. I think the strength of the onna-bugeshia and samurai and the speed you can get them out far out weight the potential strength of the uma and defensive bonus of the daimyo manor.
Am I seeing this wrong, or did the towncenter upgrade not spawn a villager here because Drongo was housed? He was at 20/20 before the upgrade and was still at 20/20 when the upgrade finished
it will pop out after 20 seconds, so I go from 20/20 to 22/30
@@AussieDrongo Ahh I get it, that's how that works. Awesome, I really like the min-maxing here to get that stable down a few seconds earlier by intentionally housing yourself!

I am on search match cooldown because some dude discs on our team during loading, therefore I leave, and now I have the cooldown.
Totally wastes my time... and they tell me that I am ruining the game....

What do you mean? What do farms have to do with walls?
@GrabbaBeer walls can stop units from moving around gold mines etcetra now. Wondered if you could draw them up to a building and stop units from moveing like around the farms around your town hall. But the answer is no
