I'm watching from England and I find your blog so informative because I also have to use oxygen at home due to late stages of COPD. I use a big machine for 5 or 2 hours, but thankfully I also have the hospice to help me. They are absolutely brilliant.i am extremely fortunate that the NHS is funding all my care ❤
Thank you for sharing, some times I have a hard time understanding the COPD that came in in one day as panic attacks that I never had before 5 years ago got up at 4 in morning to make coffee and it just hit me made it to the front door cause I couldn't breathe, I was alone, so every since , I use inhalers just two months ago they put me on oxygen, I'm on Medicare so they pay for it, I'm fortunate for that, but couple years back during covid I bought my own small one to have on hand, cost me 2,400. Portable for the car that really helps it does 5 liters. Any way thank you for sharing, and may the Lord help us all. Have good day.
Hi, my name is Charla. I have COPD fourth stage severe! I had to buy my machines as well, I had no insurance when I first go sick, and it was quite expensive to rent one, so I decided I’d rather have my own and after a year saved enough not renting that it paid for it!! The day Dr. put me on oxygen I burst into tears😢 I couldn’t believe it and could hardly walk thru lobby with my tank, ugh,, I’ll never forget that moment,! Anyhow 8 years later; I’m a lot worse, but the oxygen has kept me alive. I had taken a retirement to take care of my Mom, who died 3 years ago! I had the hardest time taking care of both of us and our cats. She was with me 12 years so I wasn’t sick when she came, I wish I knew meow about machines when I got sick, because of how scary it really is, so I’m sure you’re wonderful video will help people: thank You 🙏 ❤️
Oh, where were you when I was hunting for information by a user when I started on home oxygen? Silly question. Anyway, I ended up writing a book and illustrating it. I live at home alone and the invasion of all the equipment overwhelmed me. That's in spite of having been a nurse... but not a respiratory one, a mental health one. Using another set of skills, writing training manuals, I put together a small book on my experience, and researched a whole lot of things. My late husband had PF but wasn't told until 6 weeks before he died. I have COPD and CCF, amongst other things, and plod on, trying to help. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for this very informative video. I'm in Malaysia, with COPD but my blood oxygen is still around 94 most of the time. However, I'm getting supplemental oxygen for those times when I'm breathless and panicky. Like when walking up the stairs. By the way, this is the first time I'm seeing liquid oxygen tanks :-) It's been 4 years since this video, and I hope you are doing fine, Kim. -- Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
You might be with the wrong oxygen co. Mine supplies to long and connectors. Medicare covers oxygen and tubing. Can you get on Medicare. I have blue cross blue shield Medicare. I really liked the info on putting the tubing in the dryer I have a 50' extension and a 7' foot cannula and it is always getting really kinked up. I'm going to try that the next time I change out my tubing. Thank you
Hi im on a oxygen journey as well. D condition that's trying totake control of me is called SARCOIDOSIS. I've used several nasal cannulas to obtain the proper air flow. I use O2 24/7. My nasal cannula is called an OXYMIZER. I have several tanks n my apartment. At 1st i hatedem but i've gotten used to them. Jesus helped me. If i wanna live to 👀 my live i had to let the hatred go.
Thank you for your videos I appreciate them very much..I have stage 3 sever copd and lung cancer. About 3 years ago I was put on oxygen when I sleep well the allergies copd and a new lung mass iv been having problems keeping my oxygen up to a decent amount. The Dr. Complained when I had video appointments I wasn't to be using the oxygen during the day. My breathing was so bad I couldn't walk to the car with out major exasperations. Iv since got moore oxygen bottles and im paying for a ingen 3 not sure I care for the pulse id rather have a mask especially for night time. Thanks again for your video its not easy living with a medical condition that will take my life. I have triple negative breast cancer that metastasized to my sternum, bones, lung and its traveled to my other breast. God bless you
I couldn't get under 40mg without going on a ketogenic diet. Going on as close to zero grams of carbs as possible mixed with eating only once every couple of days helped me get the steroids down enough for my blood sugar to drop and get into ketosis. I had to add in 3 grams of olive leaf extract 4 times a day to tolerate it. I was not successful until I mixed several things. And you also have to be very, very careful to not catch anything and not be exposed to anything like allergies or even get mad because with me, everything would just piss my lungs off. I had to keep my body very quiet. Winter is actually a good time if you're normally at home all the time anyway if you have allergies. Good luck to you!
That just really angers me to hear your insurance company didn’t think oxygen is essential. I’ve had a horrible time with mine insurance company paying for life saving things that I need
RIP Kim. You have left these helpful videos behind which others will see and continue to benefit from.
