That is the remarkable thing to me. I'm a big Bob Seger fan, but Bob, who had one of the most soulful rock voices ever, lost the ability to sing in the same key and hit the same notes as he used to, in his early sixties. I'm sure being a lifelong smoker didn't help. Gary's voice here at 73 is simply amazing.

He can sing anything. A Whiter Shade of Pale has been my favorite song since 1967, still a groupie. Always will be. Thanks Gary...

Brooker, as great a performance as the first time I heard this song on the radio in '67 when I was 11 years old! Loved the song ever since. I lived in the inner city across the street from a small music store. I would always go in there and look at records and hear the latest hits he had playing in the store. Got turned on to some great music back then at such a young age.

I was also 11! Have always LOVED this song. A year ago the original video of it showed up in my RUclips feed. I started watching and listening to more of PH and became addicted to Gary, his voice and piano playing! He's also quite handsome. 😍🎶🎹🎤

I was perhaps "9 years old" !!, and I went to the Music business in Buenos Aires, and wanted to buy a new album,......
---I was looking at the covers and photos of the musicians, trying to choose an album to buy ...----
I found "Procol Harum" on the rafts, and it caught my attention, and I bought it, .... well, no idea what It was that group, but ... when I went home and put the album on, I was amazed at how beautiful that song "Whiter Shade of Pale" was, and I listened to it a thousand times ... I thought I had bought and discovered one of the more beautiful songs that I had never heard, until those days. Today is already a classic of great beauty!. ---I can't forget the surprise when I heard it.--- Greetings & Peace !

Gary Brooker just gets better and better! I love his little dissertation on descending chord songs leading into Whiter Shade. It definitely shows his classical training and his understanding of musical theory and chord structure. Love it! He's a genius and always has been. My wife and I danced to this song at our wedding (I'm a keyboard player).
