- Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands on Tuesday visited European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso in Brussels.
The royal visit appears to be part of a damage-control effort by the Dutch government amid continued international worries over the influence of right-wing, anti-muslim populist Geert Wilders on Dutch government policy. The Queeen's visit to the European institutions coincided with the first official 'government declaration' in The Hague by Mark Rutte, the new Dutch Prime Minister whose minority-coalition between the conservative-liberal VVD and christian-democrat CDA is only able to govern because of parliamentary support from Geert Wilders' PVV party.
Queen Bea looks good in this video. Too bad there is so much ugliness and hate directed at her.

@apogist The Queen of England is also the British head of state and commonwealth but may not meddle in politics. The Dutch Queen is visiting the EU commission because Mr Wilders and his freedom Party has been voted for by the Dutch electorate. It says as much in this video description.
The President of France and other European Countries were at least voted for whereas this woman simply through her birth right became head of State and therefore should have no clout whatsoever.I see no ceremony

This Queen has more wealth which exceeds that of Queen Elizabeth. Since when did queen beatrice relinquish her 51% stake in Royal Dutch shell thn? Also are her accounts published every year for people to see and does she pay TAX?
You can even see and hear her arrogant manner toward the man sat opposite her. The `ok` she says is effectively a `shut up` .

Why is the Queen of Holland and owner with a 51% stake of Royal Dutch Shell visiting the European commision? What has she got to contribute to the union? I thought Royalty had zero to do with politics. Could someone please explain what she was doing there? Is she against the people of Holland?

People respect her? Who? The Dutch people do not respect her for what she as head of Royal Dutch shell did in Nigeria. This woman should be grateful the Netherlands allow her to sit on the throne. Now her mother Julianna was a far superior Queen to her and even I respected Queen Julianna.
If there is a reason to make the Netherlands a repuplic, this Beatrice woman is it. I`d hate her if she was my Queen.
