    I've bought two of these from Farnell, I'm thinking about testing the correct current by just heating up the zener with a soldering iron put close to it.
    You can get heaps of cheap 25ppm or 10ppm SMD resistors from LCSC these days :D It's a little better...

      I don't think it's a good idea to heat the diode partially. Thermal stresses can then occur at the contact ends. It is better to heat the diode together with the contacts in an oil bath to determine the best TC. I have demonstrated this in the video with the SZA263. You can influence the TC with the Zener current. However, you can only achieve a very small TC for a very small temperature range. It is best to install the entire circuit board in a thermostat.
