@@EliseAnderson-ve2qrI have curly frizzy hair myself, I use the curlers that are plastic and are pre shaped into a curl and it forces your hair to change shape. Look up plastic squishy heatless curlers. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for this! I've been straightening my new short hair non-stop, and the damage is really starting to show. I tried your method, thinking it wouldn't work for me, but it did and I LOVE the results! Going to keep my hair curly from now on. You've saved me a lot of time, stress and hassle, I can't thank you enough ❤
Thank you, Shonagh. I love how you do twist the hair so easy. Marie looks gorgeous. I also have the shoulder length hair & can’t wait to use your technique.
Ok, this seems like the perfect day to pull the tie off of my fuzzy robe and give this a go! And, speaking of perfect, I really think that Maria's brow shape perfectly accentuates her smiling eyes.😊
This may sound ridiculous but I’m so grateful for this video. I just recently cut my hair to be short for the first time in my life as I’ve always had long hair and I’ve been struggling to get used to it and with styling it and actually feeling beautiful. Gonna try this tonight💕 typing this from my partners account, bless him for his RUclips red 🙏💀😂
Fabulous, Shonagh. Maria looks beautiful with her curls. I love that it's both glam but also casual and modern looking. Fascinating to see you using what is quite an old-fashioned technique that was used before hairdryers were invented. My hair just slightly longer than Maria's and I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this, Shonagh! I loved your original robe curls video from a couple years ago, but I had my waist length hair cut to shoulder length a few months ago and just didn't know what to do with it. This is perfect! I'll let you know how it turns out ❤️
Yay, thank you! My hair has just reached a little longer than Maria's and I was thinking of getting the satin rods but this looks just as easy and probably more comfortable for short hair girlies not having long rods to deal with! Can't wait to try it now I can see what amazing results you can get even having short hair 😄
I have done this but my hair is a little longer and her hair looks thick. She is gorgeous..good job. ❤ I think she loves it and her and her hair are sooo pretty.
I used this method for a year amazing heartless. Now my hair is shoulder length I use the same method but I use 4 sessions and use 4 socks and still amazing results. 🎉
I'm grateful for this demo because my hair is almost exactly cut the dame way, with the addition of some layers (which could make it harder) and an undercut (which could make it easier at the end). May I also suggest Bantu knots as a heartless curling technique. The curls are tighter with smaller sections, and vice versa.
Omg, this is perfect! I want to cut my super-long-and-straight hair, but I thought I wouldn’t able to do heatless curls anymore. But knownI know I can!
This is great since im lazy in using heating tools for my hair unlike this i can do it before sleeping then woke up like this though i have wavy hair just like to accentuates the curls 😊 nice video and it really suits her modern look
Thank you for the short hair explanation on Heatless curls. My hair is about the same length as the model in the video, but not all one length yet. I've always wondered what the trick was bc my hair just doesn't curl even with the hot tools. The robe belt may be too thick for my hair, but i will attempt another type of tie. Wish me luck.😂
For us, hardly any result is worth the effort. Curls can make us look balding, too. I'm resigned to it. I'm not that concerned about my hair at my age.
I haven’t tried this exact method yet but I have had great results on my fine thin hair with similar approaches. If you want to try it, my top tips are: - Add a hold product when you dampen your hair. Pick something lightweight and don’t use too much. - Use either a salt spray on your damp hair or a dry texture spray after you take it out. This will make your hair less slippery so the curls can support each other and won’t sag as much. I usually use Evolvh Dreamgel and Kenra Dry Texture spray.
My hair is fine but doesn’t hold any curl. This included. Do you use a finishing spray appose to hairspray which isn’t holding for me (even the strongest). ❤
So to do the section with the sock in the back, do you clip the sock to the robe and leave a section out and do exactly the same technique taking hair from each side of the sock?
Exactly that, Sheri! So essentially you have 3 sections; 1 either side of your face by your ears as shown in this video, and then 1 down the back. Then each of these sections you can split down the centre so you can work from each side of that section to wrap over the robe/sock. Hope that makes sense?
@@ShonaghScott Absolutely 🙌🏾 and I'll probably try to snap a quick pic (if it turns out right😋) to upload to show the outcome to represent for those who look like me😊
Depends on your hair type. If it’s natural polka straight it might last until the end of the day. My hair type is slightly wavy and a little frizzy naturally so it holds very well until I next wash it.
Every time I do this, the hair in the back of my head is reeaallly flat. So it's nice and curly from the from, but from the side and from the back it looks really silly 🙈 any tips on how to fix it?
You could try this reverse technique as this creates more volume at the back and much more bounce: ruclips.net/video/kL-vtQgSWy4/видео.html If your hair is too short to start at the back, try dividing your hair into 3 sections rather than 2 and add in an extra length of material (even a sock will do!) down the back. So you wrap the sides like we have done in the original tutorial and then also one down the back of your head. Does that make sense?
I did mine at night, and slept with them in (with a hair scarf to keep it tidy) and and the curls lasted all the way to the evening! And that was without any product 😍

No, a French braid requires you to weave the sections so they swap places to form a plait/braid. With this you’re wrapping each section in a 360 motion so they never swap places. The section is literally looping the robe tie and coming back to it original position. If you French braid with the robe tie it’ll look lovely still but very different to this, this creates an actual curl, not just a wave.
Because the hair at the very bottom stays straight, it’s too short to be incorporated so the length doesn’t change, instead the shorter layers and top of the hair lifts with the curls!
And how to do it without help of second pair of hands ...perhaps you should show how are you doing by yourself...sorry...great but impossible without help....I think

Try using a setting lotion like Pli by Loreal! I’ve linked it in the description bar of the video. It’s a thermal modelling spray, give your hair a mist in it before you wrap your hair. Once it’s wrapped give it a little blast with the hair dryer. It needs heat to activate it - I know it sort of defeats the ‘heatless’ aspect but that is much lower heat exposure than using hot tools and you only need to warm it up to activate the spray. It’ll help to hold your curl for longer. Or, you could try adding a soft hold mousse to your hair before you wrap it. Wait until it’s completely dry before removing the wrap.
I tried this out with only an hour to spare because I was in a hurry and I got the cutest curls/waves!!! So happy with the results!
