Dad came in clutch. Relationships are hard, I'm glad Lui could laugh about it with her brother. She seems rather well adjusted despite her parents quarrels.
I do think the father was really stressed(bottled up even) that time. The fact that both of them were to forgive each other meant that everyone was being too emotional at that time.
My parents had a very nasty separation but that motivated me more not to end up like that and be more careful who should I choose to live with for a long run.
Ive been in that situation before, but im already getting used to it. One time my parent had a quarrel and my mom told me that we are going to my grandparent house but im not sad, its quite the opposite, because i love my grandma, she is so lovely. And we live there for a couple of days until my father apologies.

Its worse in Japan, they are always fixated on appearances, giving a f*ck what will society say if you act or say something opposed to society rules and thats why japanese bottle up their emotions and most of their relationships are colder compared to western relationships, so when a fight start japanese couples have lots of bottled emotions.

I'll never get over how calmly and nonchalantly some of the hololive girls talk about traumatizing periods in their lives.
They had a hard time, got over it and can now look back and laugh about it.

I mean, people do laugh at their own trauma/ptsd. You don't know if this incident was one or not, anything can cause trauma.
Children are astonishingly adaptable at times, able to just kinda shrug and roll with things that should be traumatizing from the outside because they're safely protected by... simply not knowing any better.
And then sometimes they get lasting lifelong trauma from a five second clip in a horror movie that haunts them for the rest of their adult life... It's kinda a crapshoot sometimes.
its because most of that happened more than a decade ago, and their mental wound healed a long time ago
It's really fun listening to Lui's stories, it's amazing how she can make things so engaging.

This family trauma/joke is up there with Botan talking about how her uncle tried to commit suicide in the bathtub by stabbing himself with a kitchen knife, and the only reason he didn't go through with it is because Botan's mom was beating the absolute shit out of him and yelling at him to not make a mess in her house.

Agree, most suicide attempt because they can't handle pain of life, so they usually try slowly numb the body from react to pain. Botan mother definitely beating the crap out the uncle so hard he getting back the sense of pain. Pain is proof you alive.

Remember kids, marriage is not about personal happiness or convenience. That's called "Dating".
Being married is often difficult, sometimes painful, and occasionally suffering. But once you make that commitment you owe it to each other to make it work (barring extreme stuff like personal abuse or cheating) This should be taught to people from a young age, who like I said treat being married like "super duper dating", their partner to be cast aside when its no longer exciting or happy.
Put more simply, there is a degree of difference between "Intent", "Promise" and "Sacred Oath".

Usually, children play acting can help them process their thoughts on an issue, so Lui and Lui-nee were actually doing something healthy

Man I've been watching this type of drama since I was kid so i do really understand that this is such a traumatic situation to happen to a family but man Lui being able to laugh despite went through it is pure strength right there. Plus her big brother is such a vibe, such an admirable person to cheer her up and go along with her ❤️✨

My mom got divorced twice when I was a kid, and one time it was because she was nearly killed in front of me. I'm glad that Lui is able to look back and laugh at her experience now, though there's probably some coping mechanism involved.

It’s not real though. Might be some kind of dramatic react, not real divorce intention. When asian couple get mad at each other, wife usually go back to their parent house for a while, pretty common. That’s also why she’s really embarrassed when lui keep remind her of it, pretty immature 😂

I'm currently growing up in that sort of household, and I know that feeling of "my family could be broken apart at any second." So far, it's had a massive negative psychological impact on my siblings and I, it's really scary. But we've learnt to just ignore whenever our parents are having an argument. Sometimes we even poke fun at the situation we're in.

Guys the reason why she was able to tell this story jokingly is probably because her family is good overall. Both parents might have learned a lot from this incident and it probably never happened again at this level.

and her mother have short temper yet her husband is very passionate about her
aah this hits home, damn. me being the eldest brother, sometimes you just have to stepped in to calm the two as the middleman. it gets frustrating but it keeps both calm and my family is still together, fights are normal in a relationship, but the way we resolved it is the difference.
That is one hell of an inside joke. Just any time Lui is going out for the day, “I’M LEAVING!”

Honestly I can relate to the safe in the kids room.. I Had a huge hole in my wall that lead to a small concrete room under the stairs, and my parents put a safe in there, (as well as a bunch of other stuff.) My Dad used rivets and bolts to put up a thick oak door/board to the hole and I had my TV and stand in front of it, and I liked to decorate around my shelves and TV stand with toys and plushies.. So you could not even see the oak door there..
It was still pretty easy to access though since my it was an old big bulky TV and it had wheels to roll. and you just went under the stand and undid the bolts and rivets.. to access it..
I guess my parents would put stuff in it like money and important documents since it was fire proof, blast proof, lock proof, and completely sealed.. But they kept the guns and such in their room's safe in case we had a break-in...
After a few years though I guess they got tired of storing stuff in it, and sold the safe and put other stuff in the hole for storage.
I think they stored money in it at first.. But I'm not sure if they actually did... I assume so since what else would they want to hide... But my guess is our debt was too great so there was no more money to actually hide and this was a super nice safe so it made more sense to just sell it for more cash...
So my families safe was more in a hidden wall then in a closet in Lui-nee's room... But it's still funny how parents will try to protect stuff by thinking outside the box.
Lui learned a lesson that day never piss off your mom when she's holding a knife 😂
