  • I haven't found a good video on how to do this so I thought I would show how to install the muffler bypass pipes.
    Parts needed
    2 2inch exhaust flex pipe kits
    1 hack saw blade
    16mm socket (to remove tips)
    Takes about an hour to do in your garage and costs less then 20$!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My 2006 V8 only had one tube on the drivers side. Insert the 18" tube on both sides. Remove with vice grips if you don't like it. You'll like it! It's pretty quiet until you get on the gas hard. I love it!

    Use the German mod instead of this! Use a 40-43 cm pipe, 2 inches in diameter, but not just a pipe like here! If you install just a pipe like he did, you effectively stuff the exhaust closed, and you lose about 35hp! The pipe MUST be cut open in the center section facing the incoming exhaust, otherwise you are screwing yourself. Look at RUclips: "bypass für den endtopf" that's the correct mod, with the best sound!

    • @mike321go
      @mike321go  6 лет назад +14

      James Calhoun yes that would be the case if you used a solid piece of pipe... this is two separate pieces leaving the middle section open and free from restriction.
      Again this mod uses TWO SEPARATE Pieces one on the right side and one on the left side.

    Hello. I understand this is an old video, but just a question. So when you put the pipe inside, where does the inner end of the pipe end up being? is it just hanging inside the muffler?

    dude i deleted that whole suitcase muffler got rid of all my cats i did leave one resonator on.....its a beast now ...no restriction what so ever... and i gained 8 hp
    and i put in a kn air filter.......an yes doing it my way you get a way deeper growl hardly any drone.

    • @svr_fm_958
      @svr_fm_958 4 года назад

      Seriously? I deleted the secondry cats and put a 2 cutouts on the stock pipes that are right underneath the gear...i swear its so noisy and the rpm is not stable but i gained like what 20hp?

    • @MrOmgfreak
      @MrOmgfreak 4 года назад

      That’s why... get rid of the suitcase muffler u can put another resonator on if ya want but those cats by the engine those are hard to find aftermarket will still throw a check engine light so just take the old ones off and gut the insides out sounds awesome those by the engine are very restrictive ..plus run a e85 93 octain mix in there to clean it up a bit trust me that will smooth out the idle u might have a small leak in the tank vent line nothing to worry about...do u have the v8 or the vr6

    • @svr_fm_958
      @svr_fm_958 4 года назад

      time traveler are we there yet hey there i have the v8 and ill take your e85 mix into consoderation..i uploaded mine on my channel take a look!...im thinking of getting a custom exhaust system and BMC air filters also just fucking tune it to stage 2 do u think itll backfire or make a pop crackles?

    • @MrOmgfreak
      @MrOmgfreak 4 года назад

      I bit it will ... turning off the psm will help I like doing that...yea I don’t know how your state is .... but here we don’t have smog test but it’s a waste of money to buy an exhaust u would get the same results just modding the old one

    • @svr_fm_958
      @svr_fm_958 4 года назад

      time traveler are we there yet so do you think i should just tune it on stock? I removed the cutouts now its kinda stock it still makes a noise if i speed up like over 100 km/h what do you think? Shall i stage 2 tune it on stock?

    Hello
    I have a Cayenne V6 3.2 250hp year 2005.
    I have removed the exit pipe line of the muffler like the video.
    However in your video you dont show the inside of the pipe before you insert the flexible pipe of 2inch.
    In my case about 30cm inside de pipe i have something that blocks anything to go inside further than than. Like a tap.
    Did you have the same kind tap inside at this distance or its completely clear side to side?
    Do you think in my case with this tap that blocks at 30cm inside the muffler i still can insert the flexible pipe and gain the sound boost on the muffler?
    I really appreciate some help.
    Thaks

    • @MrOmgfreak

    Any downsides on cutting that little tube? I’m thinking of doing this to my 957 Base. If I don’t want to cut the pipe off, can I just slice the 2 inch tube? I read the V6 muffler only has one tube inside it. Also, how long do pipes need to be in order to avoid restricting the exhaust?

      How can it be louder if the flow is reduced? Your theory is incorrect. The 2" tube diverts the flow from going entirely thru the huge ass muffler. To right straight(literally) out the exhaust tips. John in FLA
