      So we got the OC from the worst offensive team the NFL has ever seen the Browns. And they fired him 🤷‍♂️. A guy who's been around but never stuck around. Whatever. I guess we can't do much worse than where we were at. Hopefully we draft Marvin Harrison Jr and sign Baker + Evans to put his in immediate playoff contention

    A GOOD EXPERIENCED OC, that isn't exactly a future HC on another team in a few years (seeing teams want the next new young up and coming coach). He's good with QBs, he has called plays (although not in Cleveland), and it's an easier offensive style than the Patriot's former O. Plus he's still a "player's coach" (like Mayo seems to want). A really important thing that people are missing is, now NE can start molding the "NEW OFFENSE," as far as assistant coaches, and what type of offensive players they want.
    The West coast style Offense is simplified enough to teach to anyone coming into the NFL from college, yet no SO different of an O style that NE will need to overhaul the players they have (and want) immediately either, like they would kind of need to do with the newer Shanahan Style Offense. He was an unexpected name but the more I think about it, Van Pelt is everything I was hoping for in NE's new OC (under new HC Mayo). Experienced, good with QBs, and he's not likely to bounce to a new team as a HC if this works out in NE. ☑️➕️👍👍. LFG Pats!

    • @Whathappened875
      @Whathappened875 4 месяца назад

      But it won't work out in New England. There's assumingly a reason he keeps bouncing around, getting fired time and time again

      I think Tun scheme will be based on traditional pats downhill physical runs with slight tweaks to utilize motion and more athletic players. Pass scheme will be west coast style but still attack middle of the field with posts, deep ins, delayed slants, deep curls, go balls from the slot/seam. Then play action and bootlegs for deep outside the numbers verticals, with a mobile QB possibility to run. Expecting good mix of under center heavy/unbalanced lines, combined with shotgun 4 wide and movement of x/z receivers for releases from the inside. Trips, bunches, and stacks for receiver formations

Patriots better knock this draft and FA outta the park this year and even if they do its probably a year or 2 at the very least where in the playoffs . I would argue that our best playmaker is Kendrick Bourne, his season got cut short because of the injury and Pop was the only one there after that, but when they actually threw Kendricks way he would make plays. Our coaching staff last year which includes Billy O Brien failed to use him the right way as they failed to use Hunter Henry the right way. Everyone acts like Bill O Brien aint at fault for how that offense looked, yet he did worse then Joe Judge and Matt Patricia with the same exact offense. Mac took a wicked step back even compared to the season before and that has to do with the OC and QBs coaches that could not develop him. His rookie season under McDaniels was actually pretty good, but ever since Josh left they have not had anybody in that building that could properly develop a QB. It will be a breath of fresh air to have an OC with the resume that Van Pelt has, whether or not we keep Mac of draft a QB we need someone who can develop them or we are going to fall right back into what we have seen for the past 2 seasons.

      It’s not all about Wack Jones anymore. He is done. We are drafting our franchise QB Drake Maye that will be the face of our franchise. Our franchise QB. We will NOT be picking up Wack Jones’ 5th year option contractually.
