Whew Chile I never cursed so much in my life lol Im finally attempting these socks, love your videos they’re such a big help, but I am frustrated cuz my thread keeps popping and I’ve tried your method, maybe I’m too rough lol.
😂😂😂I was once you not too long ago, believe me you will get the hang. Try loosening the tension if you are having trouble with the thread..all pull a little to start and make sure the two thread are not twisted, if If so it can kind of knot it
Renee’s Way I gave up lol I ended up using elastic but I hate the way it looks!!!
Vaughna TheFashionista keep trying but what don’t you like with the elastic? If you don’t think it’s fluffy enough remember you can add as much tulle to get the desired look
Renee’s Way I will try again, but I don’t like that when the sock is complete I can see the elastic .
Vaughna TheFashionista if not happy with that look you can add more tulle maybe another yard or so

Are your measurements for a set of socks or each socks? Meaning if i need 2 yards of ribbon and tulle for a toddler sock do i cut in half to make ruffle for both socks?

hey I like to regular wash and dry on delicate, they actually hold up surprisingly lol

I would suggest 3 yards instead of 2 1/2 as mine came out way too short for a medium size after ruffling! 😫 Other than that thank you this is a great tutorial
Yes if you don’t feel it’s enough definitely go up especially depending on the tulle you use, I use a really thick tulle..thank you so much I will add that on the next video

Hi love, what can I do to make the ruffle on the socks not look so big? Should I use 7/8 size ribbon? Also if I do use 7/8 ribbon should I cut the tulle (width) so that the tulle doesn’t show when the sock is flipped on its correct side, I only want the ribbon to show. I hope that makes sense lol
Hey love, yes you can use 7/8 and then make the seam wider where you see the gather stitch so you can cut the access tulle once you get it sewn on the sock
On the gathering seam sew two lines it Easy hand on to the sock so you don’t make back split the ruffle when you sewing it on sock get easy
Sew first line with presser foot guide the next sew second line when gathers two it’s easy sew on to the ruffles to the sock

BlaqueOnDaBeat hey I really like brother brand, any beginners machine will do however it’s a lot harder to find sewing machines because of the face mask demand, however I did see a beginners Singer brand on Joanns website today that may work for you
How long or how many inches is the ruffles after its pulled?
Jana Choi hey Jana it’s usually close to 6 to 8 inches depending on size. As I ruffle I usually like to wrap it around the rim of the sock to make sure it connects on each end and then loosen a little for when you stretch the sock

Thank you for this tutorial. I found 3 pairs of wonder nation turn cuff socks but they were $4 for 3 pack. making them about $1.33 each plus tax. Does anyone else know about a less expensive comparable option? Thank you. i was able to buy 50 yards of 1.5 satin one sided ribbon for $6. is that a good price?

Dana Maddox hey Dana I price my socks from $13 for solid to $20 for 2 layer ruffles (which I have not made a tutorial for yet but will) multi color I charge a extra 2-3 dollars, however it’s all depends on what your paying for supplies, check out my website if you want to buy bulk, best way to charge reasonable prices while still making your max profit

My machine has an auto tension - do you think I should turn that feature off? I wonder if I can use a serger (turning off the cutter of course)...
If you have the option to turn off the feature, I would say try it with auto tension off
