I went back to confession a few years ago….for the first time in like 40 years….oh my goodness. What a difference it makes. I now try to go at least once a month and recently going every 2-3 weeks. It truly is a gift from Jesus!

I've heard once He forgives our sins there are gone forever. written in sand only. Besides all the Peace that comes with it, we receive all His Amazing Grace to guide us through any challenges and temptations that will come our way. thank you for reminding us of all the powerful gifts we receive in the sacrament of Confession. amen

@@Catholicspeaker Yes. Fr. Nix has a video on general confessions which was helpful. He said to write down all the sins we wish to confess and make an appointment with the priest because a general confession could last 20 to 30 minutes. Mine lasted 30 LOL. Just tells you how much I confessed. And yes, I did go through an examination of conscience as a guide. I highly recommend a general confession Ken! It was so uplifting! Beautiful gift!

I just had my very first confession today. It was a face to face confession and I was really afraid, but mother Mary intercession for obtaining courage to reconcile me with Jesus allows me to confessed. After the priest absolved my sin. I just felt I was with God again. I felt the grace of God upon me. It feels like I just did my baptism. I dunno how to explain, I just felt the closeness with God again.

I used to not believe and even verbalized how ridiculous it was to confess sins if GOD knew your heart. Oh I was so wrong. After year and years 15+ of not confessing, I had an hones 4 hour conversation with a priest friend and I decided right there to confess. I can not describe the feeling. Ever since I look forward to it. I missed it during pandemic. I was still confused over the ritual on how to do it but another priest friend was patient enough to explain it step by step and it was more beautiful to my eyes. Honestly is Iike taking a soul’s deep shower. The peace, the surrender, the humble giving. I feel so grateful for the gift we have. I have still so much to learn.

Excellent video to see and/ or listen to while I am trying to find and gather all the basically necessary documents for filing my yearly tax returns at this late point and time, after I was ill and practically down for the count this morning, instead of completely healthily being able to and getting done what I had planned on much long overdue getting done. I must submit to GOD's plan for me, though, even when I don't understand it. Your video is an encouraging support to why I usually go to Confession face - to - face, personally, verbally setting all I perceive I need to confess or mention honestly, completely before the Priest. My being in the military, and onboard aircraft carrier ship, or at war on land, further developed my preference for face - to - face holy Sacrament of Confession. I know that many people would feel uncomfortable about Confession that way, but it has been my experience that there is usually nothing to fear about it, even/ especially if the penitent is honest and complete, truly sorry and repentant, with his or her confession.

I'm about to go to Confession in a few hours, so I scrolled on RUclips to re-learn about this sacrament 'cause it was 1 year since my last confession. Thanks to your video I have more courage and longing for the forgiveness Jesus is always waiting to grant me. I'm looking forward to receiving His mercy and become holy 🧡

Our wonderful Priest during his homily was talking about when Jesus bent down to write how, when he was bent down writing it would have been quiet, and that Jesus just gave them a moment of quiet to ponder what he had just told them! In the quiet they were convicted and just left.

I'll be honest. There were several times when I got scolded int he confessional. Several times I really deserved it. But there were a few times when I just chalk it up to a grumpy priest (they're human after all). Thankfully those encounters are very rare and could be probably counted on my fingers.
One of the best confessions I have had was a general confession during a silent retreat I attended. It was hosted by the Legionaries of Christ at our Newman center. I have never heard about general confessions before, but they are beautiful to be able to go through and reflect on the sins of our whole life.

I have heard from an Ordained Catholic Priest some time ago that a good Sacrament Confession is also inherently and intrinsically in a way a mini excorcism. Who wouldn't want that?!

Every Saint has a past every sinner has a future. God bless you ! I was once where you are , I went crying uncontrollably, and afterwards the Priest leaned over (I went face to face) and said " you don't think that's the worse sins I've heard do you". I just cried harder, knowing he didn't think I was as bad as I thought. But I floated out of there. I pray you have many blessings!!!

I once had something to confess that I was so scared of confessing that I didn't want to do it to my parish priest, and I travelled to a different town to go to a priest who didn't know me. Someone said to me "there's nothing you can say that they haven't heard 1000 times before" and I found that really encouraging. I hope you do too! Good luck!
