Instead of the jaw pullers to remove the flywheel, you can also use the m20 bolt that holds on the oil filter cooler on the front of the motor. Hope that helps:)

I know this is 3 years later but if you leave the clutch plates in while you take out that center nut for the clutch basket it will loosen right up just put some pressure on the plates with your fingers and broom it comes right off

so much, perhaps a good hundreds of engines that I have seen opened and some that I have opened..... this is the first one that I have seen opened and has the combustion chambers as clean as if it had left the factory..... .
although it is clear that something has already been wandering around inside the third cylinder.
and before opening this head, which apparently was opened shortly before this work, if you had downloaded the manual you would understand that it is not by force that you separate precision parts.
This head gasket is from Aliexpress....
What's more, that head is warped, or it was.
There is a procedure for dismantling and assembling engines, be it one cylinder or 12.
the way he did things, it was out of mere curiosity of what this engine is like inside and how it comes apart.
DID NOT READ THE MANUAL. IF YOU HAD READ IT I WOULD NOT SAY WHAT I SAID ABOUT THE DRIVE CHAIN OR THE GUIDE

@fixin_grillin_chillin thank you for posting all of this I have an f4 that has low compression on one cylinder.. I'm 99%sure it's the rings .. can explain more if wanted.. but I'm planning on tearing it down honing and re ring .. now my question is about the head/cams .. do you have to pull the cams out or is it possible to just pull the entire head with the cams still in it ...I ask because the bike does run everything else seems to be proper and functional if I can get away with yanking the whole head as one it would be much easier as I don't think it needs any attention other than some small cleaning.. fyi the bike only has 13k miles .. let's just say the previous owner was not very smart

you cannot pull the head without removing the camshafts. the cams and the cam bracket are in the way of the head bolts... sorry!

I saw that you said the head gasket is garbage. mine is leaking a little bit off to the outside of the engine so I have to replace it. What replacement would you recommend?

A Felpro or a Cometic... although any good multilayer gasket will work! thanks for watching!

How is it possible to break the end of the crankshaft? Who has any idea?

cam and crankshafts are actually very brittle pieces of machinery lengthwise, they are made to be very strong in a twisting motion, but you can easily crack/break them just by dropping them. could be that someone before you dropped it?

@@jeffhumes Well I broke not by dropping it but by riding the bike, Even if previous owner dropped the bike it wouldn't survive that long without showing up. So that's really strange...
