Polishing the 11 Escape up with a SAKER cordless buffer polisher, plus some yapping

  • The weather man is stating we're going to get a major winter storm in the next day or two. I'v been wanting to wax up the 11 Escape for a long time now, but due to health issues I have been putting it off for a couple years.
    Yesterday I polished the Escape up using a SAKER "cordless" polisher, to help protect the car from the brutal winter and salt. Wow is it nice not having a cord to deal with! The SAKER polisher is battery operated using its rechargeable lithium battery pack. It was wax on, wax off, all with one charge, and extra battery power still left. It's super easy to use, and actually made waxing the car enjoyable. Maybe I'll wax them more often now. I hated dealing with the cord when using my corded polisher! It was always in the way, or the plug getting pulled out.... I hated it, and I do not like hand waxing.
    I also touched up all the paint nicks and stone chips.I want to make the Escape last as long was possible, considering what cars cost these days.
    Here is a link to the SAKER cordless buffer polisher; www.amazon.com...
    If you look at the ad on Amazon, you can purchase the buffer with no battery, one battery, two batteries or three batteries. One battery did a full size SUV, so if your only waxing one car at a time it maybe fine. If you plan to do multiple cars at once, you might want to order one with extra batteries. The SAKER cordless polisher is also available at Walmart.

      I enjoy the snow.... I can't remember the last blizzard we had here. I'm kinda looking forward to it, but hope nothing gets destroyed in the cold wind. You can be sure I will go out and play in the snow.... maybe make a snowblowing video.

    The old Escape looks wonderful. It looks like the right front bumper cover isn't being held in place properly below the headlight.
    Maybe it needs a nice tap with the fist?

    • @OldCarAlley
      @OldCarAlley  Год назад

      Yes, some inconsiderate moron slammed into it why it was parked at the grocery store. The surveillance video from the store at the time showed a newer gray Escape hitting it, then taking off. It happened maybe five years ago. Just never got around to repairing it. The bumper cover needs replacing in order to fix it properly.

    I like that cordless buffer, and just ordered myself one! Always wax my vehicles. I bought my 2004 Silverado brand new, and the original paint still looks good.

      Keeping the finish waxed really makes a finish last and look as good as new for many years.

      @@OldCarAlley Indeed. That may be the first and only brand new vehicle I ever buy at this point. Was my goal from the start, to see how long I can keep the original paint looking good. It's not perfect, but compared to most of the other trucks around the same age, it looks great. Can't wait to get my buffer in, I'll probably wax it more often than twice a year.

      @@dynatrak Yep, new cars have become crazy expensive. I doubt I'll ever purchase a new one ever again either. The truck had 1100 miles on it.... it was a salesman's demo in 08. I purchased it in August of 09..... so I don't know if that considers it new still.... I guess it was maybe. I got a great deal on it because it was one of two 08's still on there lot when the tens were about to come out. They still had lots of 09's on the lot. That was the height of the great recession and trucks were selling poorly. The Escape was definitely purchased new.... sold fresh off the transport. Mine still had a warm engine from being backed off the transport when I looked at it. It had four tenths of a mile when I left the dealership in it.

    Nice little hand held tool potentially. You vehicles are already too nice to see how it really works as a polisher though. I have a larger battery operated unit i use for the travel trailer vs a corded one. What a time saver it is for me. Enjoy the holiday and stay safe during the coming storm.

      I really like having the polisher cordless. Big time saver.... even saves time not needing to horses with a cord. They're talking blizzard conditions here Friday morning. I brought my generator and snowblower into the garage this morning. I hope I don't need the generator, but this is a huge storm affecting the whole country. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you also.

      Orbital buffers ware the only way to wax in my mind. Very time saving. The cordless one is awesome, because it saves me from propping the cord over my shoulder to keep it from scratching the paint.... and from tripping on the cord and dealing with it gettin caught on tires and what not.

    Howard, Never heard of waxing a cars windshield. That doesn"t cause a sunglare? I've always used Windex or some of the other so called window cleaners but never was happy with any of them. windows look good until I get out in the sun then I see streaks everywhere. What do you clean the inside of your windows and while inside the car what do you clean your dash and instrument panals with? Thanks for the video. Happy Hollidays. Maybe be up to see you come spring.

    • @OldCarAlley
      @OldCarAlley  Год назад +2

      Waxing the glass causes no streaks if you clean the wax off properly.... In fact the wipers wipe better and the water beads up on the glass, making it easer to see out in the rain. I use a moist genuine chamois for the interior glass and dashboard. That way I don't get towel or paper lint all over the dash. Happy Hollidays to you also.

    👍Looks nice H! My sis bought a 2011 too new & never had issues whatsoever. Last year she bought a new JEEP & gave the Escape to my spoiled niece. (shameful, never takes care of anything) Now it has many issues! Sis should’ve never gifted it to her. When one has no skin in the game some folks don’t care for things properly.
    Nice buffer. Cordless is cool. Seems to have a long lasting battery. I’m sure the SUV is happy to have a fresh coat. I’ve always like the old KIT carnauba wax myself. Have used it since the 80s. I’m sure there’s better out there but it’s always been good for me.
    Stay warm H! We’re gonna get super cold soon!!! Merry Christmas 👍🇺🇸🎄⛄️🎅

      A coat of wax will make your Cvic Hybrid gleam like new again. It sounds like that winter storm is going to hit the whole U.S. Were suppose to be 40ºF with rain tonight, but by morning they're saying a high of +15ºF with 50 to 60 mph wind gust and heavy snow. It sounds like we will have blizzard conditions for sure. I took my plasma cut snowflakes down today from the front porch, so thy don't blow away. I also brought the generator and snowblower into the garage.
