    I've been needing to do this for a while now. I had 2 ham bones in the freezer already and now a 3rd since we had a ham on Sunday. We do like ham and bean soup, but I've had to use my chicken broth for mine, which is fine, but I bet this will be even better.

    Nothing goes to waste! I love it. I do the same thing, but with different seasonings (I'm going to try yours). Sometimes when I can mine, I add 1 cup dry 15 bean soup mix to the bottom of each jar, a few chunks of ham and then top it off with broth. It makes a super condensed, yummy, fast and easy soup.

    I love pea soup but I also would make navy bean soup with the hambone. Turmeric is a great idea, that broth is gonna be awesome. I have never tried cumin in my bean soup, but I’ll give it a try next time I make bean soup. I made vegetable beef soup last week and I made a broth with a beef bone as a starter. I never make soup without a bone.

    Good morning Renea!!! I am going to be making ham broth this week and I was wondering, what is the size of your stock pot? because I only want to do one cannerful. I've made beef bone broth in an Oster roaster and it was just too much at one time. I do have a couple of stock pots like yours but I was wondering what size that was because to do one canner is enough to do it one time! Wears me out! I love your channel and I love watching your videos! Keep up the great work! ❤️

    I have a question...if I made this ham broth could I use this broth instead of water when I can navy bean soup?

    • @notthecheshirekat2596
      @notthecheshirekat2596 Год назад

      Absolutely, that’s what I do every time. Some diced carrot, onion, and celery in the jar, the beans, and top with this broth to one-inch headspace. I do pints since it makes easy and fast lunches at work considering it’s just pop the lid, microwave, and enjoy. I always have it on my shelf since it’s one of my favorite soups. 😊
