This is a very and underrated film. If someone ever asks me if I liked "that mid 2000s penguin film", I would instantly picture this one instead of Happy Feet.

i remember when i first discovers this movie at release, i was totally addict to it. i had rent it for 3 days and i basically watch it a least 8 time in a week-end. it was for me the best animated film of 2007 together with ratatouille. way better than shrek 3,beowulf, bee movie or the simpson.

I really wish this movie wasn’t so forgotten. It’s way better than it even should’ve been, considering it’s a surfing penguins movie. The mockumentary style of filmmaking is actually such an underrated genre. But also...bruh how you gonna spoil the whole damn movie for those who haven’t seen it. The Jeff Bridges Big Z twist is honestly a pretty big spoiler and should be experienced.
I dunno who would watch these kinds of videos if they haven't already seen the movie.

I remember I was able to rewatch some of this in class two years ago and I just thought, “wow, this movie is oddly really well made and animated. Like this is kinda funny and well written.” The camera movement is great, like I mean it was the best part because it let it flow but also be visually stimulating when you were able to really marvel at the animation and environment. It felt like someone really just wanted to make a movie about surfing penguins and that’s oddly...nice?

Every time I watch this movie it makes me so nostalgic, I went to see this movie as a kid when it came out and liked it. But re watching it in my twenties there's actually a lesson in it that I understand more than I could when I was younger. Having fun and making friends is more important than anything else. This plus how cool the island and animation looks makes it a great movie but then hearing the soundtrack of songs I heard when I was a kid plus some really relaxing music I hadn't heard makes it one of my favorites!

Surfs Up was one of my favorite movies growing up, I remember the opening was kinda my first introduction to Green Day, and now that I've had time to understand how important music is to me, and being at the age where I'm supposed be an adult, and then I watched this, seeing Cody swim and hear the opening riff of Holiday, and just feel like I'm back in the summer of 2007. I just fucking love this movie.

This movie honestly aged so well, when it first came up I remember people making fun of it and it looking stupid but after I finally watched it I can honestly say it’s one of my favorite animated movies lmao. The soundtrack is amazing and the cast is awesome, even if the plot is simple it’s played out so well. 10/10

I had the Surf's Up game too! And honestly, even if it's just the rose-tinted nostalgia glasses completely blinding me, it was probably one of the only *good* movie cash-in games I'd ever played. Did anyone else have older relatives as a kid that had no idea what good games were so they just bought Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks trademarked ones? Ah, childhood.

Oh gosh, I remember playing that lion king Jeep game as well. My absolute favorite part was when we went into a cave and saw hundreds of bats just staring at us on the ceiling. Or when we went to order food through a drive-thru. Great memories.

Surf’s Up was one of my favourite movies when I was a little kid. The small bird with thin legs, hairs on his head, and a long beak called Little Surfer was my favourite character.
I saw this movie so many times when I was younger. Those surfing penguins were the shit

This movie is so full of angst but it also somehow speaks to me on an emotional level it's so well made
The soundtrack reminds me of the good old days of a long lost era where I just hook up to the net in some old Windows computer and play PvZ. It may have been in the mid-2000s and most of my childhood was in the early 2010s but it sure hit me hard.
This was one of my favourite movies as a kid. I went through a phase where I watched it everyday and still loved it afterwards. I didn't know about the game or sequel.
