Sweetie, its 111 million HOUSEHOLDS. Not viewers. I'm glad they corrected her. There is no way to count viewers because this is a TV show. I hope the interviewer is ashamed of her lack of preparedness to do well at her job. Blows my mind that she didn’t do much research on the person she is interviewing. Literally this man is the main actor & her questions even came off as disregarding all of his 30yrs of filmography.
Korean movie makers don't have tendency to do sequels, it's an American thing but Squid Game is truly something different. My best bet is he will probably do a second season so bad that there won't be a season three at all. I think he likes to do period dramas like the Fortress (2017), which was quite talky and I dozed off while watching it.
I don't think it will be totally bad, just not as popular 'cause he can't do the games/survival plot again (at least not in the same way), which was the main selling point.
Goddamn man. Can the media, the people who do this professionally, just do basic research first? Students who have 1 week deadlines for a report would know their assigned topic a lot better.

Gi Hun MUST still be the main character in S2, but NO RED HAIR pleaseeeeee...
He's the new frontman.
@@rannierunsfast no hes not.... He litteraly dint go to the plane and see his daughter... Dint you understand what lee jung jae said? gi hun dint go and turned away from his family and i think on season 2 Gi Hun will stop this game and deaths, sacrifices and to prevent inocent people to die...
@@rannierunsfast and plus gi hun is the protagonist.... The director said Gi hun will comeback on season 2 AS again... Main charcter
GOSH THIS THEORYS ARE CRAZY,and the saebyeok theory that she will comeback in season 2 are impossible...she got stabed on the neck... And if she still alive she will still die because she will lost a lot of blood or got his body burned by the things that workers do after a player die...
@@joanadantas5703 yeah. i don't understand some fans...
like 'gi-hun is frontman' or dead characters comeback (ali, saebyeok)
so stupid theories all over the place.
Translation is awesome! Anyway Mr. Lee as Ki hoon has a long career as an Actor! Counting the days till release Season 2 of Squid game!!!!
WOW the interpreter did an amazing job 👍
Lee Jung Jae has another drama portraying a very charming role in Chief of Staff, also available on Netflix.
It's so attractive how classy Lee Jung-jae is omg, literal sugar daddy material
I totally agree, but did you see director though? Wow
LeBron: "i dont like the ending in squid game"
Squid game Director: "Have u seen Space Jam 2?"
LeBron: cricket
#NeverForget
Can we give credit to the translator how she explained everything clear and fast? This is hard to do sometimes
Yes this squid game has a message and lesson to the audience as well. It will be a challenge to the director coz he has to make season 2 more interesting than season 1. I am anxiously waiting for season 2.
It's been a long time coming for Korean entertainment as a whole. Been a fan since those CD days. And especially for lee jung jae who has played a lot of iconic roles
@SonderDAze X most dramas were family friendly before the advent of channels TVN Or OCN, only public broadcast stations. Though there were huge global phenomena like Dae Jang gum or Winter sonata. They do historical dramas well as well as some great comedy. We used watch to great sitcoms like Non stop, under one roof, guys & gals on Arirang like in 2006-7, can't remember. I have been a fan of Korean entertainment, variety shows, kpop, movies, dramas before they became cool 😁
@SonderDAze X Netflix has given some great opportunities for a lot of creators. Besides their movies, most entertainment stuff was for family viewing.
He is already famous in South Korea !
5:15
Hes already a big ticket in korea....
This interview made me remember some other interviews with BTS, NCT and even SNSD and I want to cry.
The Interviewer didn't do her homework xp. Doing some research on the person you're interviewing is important, more if you don't know them
the Director knows fluent English but he allowed the translator to do their job such a sweetheart 🌹
He studied films at usc but u know
He is in America to see visit his daughter
한국에서야 이미 유명배운데
미국가서야 유명세를 느끼지 않았을까?
Lee Jung Jae is already is an A list actor in Korea.
It's like asking Brad Pitt the same question.
Please do little research before asking stupid questions.
ikr
Well girl, Lee Jung Jae cannot walk freely in the street BEFORE squid game.
I just hope the director won't feel as forced to do the second season. Hopefully he still has all the passion and love left for the series to continue rather than relying fully on popularity, pressure and money. He seems like a hard-working and intelligent person tho I'm sure the second season will do just fine. I wish him and the crew lots of fun and creativity during the work 💞
season2가 더 기대됩니다. squid game 파이팅!!
That interviewer is exactly the type of "journalist" who would get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet Martin Scorsese and just asks him about Marvel movies. What a dope.
I like all the questions until it got 5:12. EXCUSE ME he’s a famous actor in Korea more than 10yrs I think that’s a very rude question because you(interviewer) think that he was not famous at all. Come on because you didn’t know him until this show came out that doesn’t mean that he wasn’t famous at all
5:47 미국에서요...
ㅎㅎㅎ Great sense!
Lee Jung Jae has been famous for decades~!!!
He is popular not only in Korea but Asia.
For that ignorant reporter, "Do your job, do your research before offending someone.
Lee jung jae might be thinking how stupid is she to ask that question...His sarcastic smile says it all...
한국에서도 원래 집 밖을 못 돌아 다녔는데.. 질문이 무슨... 미국만 세상이냐? 사전 리서치도 없네. 리포터가 무례하다.
1:25 😂 he tried to take the microphone
EXTRA asked "How was Brad Pitt's smell like?" to Oscar winning veteran actress Youn Yuh-jung
And now, they asked this kind of question to another famous actor Lee Jung-jae
Sweetie, its 111 million HOUSEHOLDS. Not viewers. I'm glad they corrected her. There is no way to count viewers because this is a TV show. More than one person would be watching from a single household. Plus there are millions more who watched via illegal streaming sites So the actual number of people who had watched SG is phenomenal.
I am from Iran; It was a beautiful series, I congratulate the creators of the series and we are waiting for the second season ..👌👏
interviewer shouldve done research about jung-jae before asking him the question
I don't know why but that smirk he gave when he heard the question satisfy me. He's like "bitch, seriously?"
I would love to hear lee jung jae speak english.. haha
Brilliant translator!
Korean movies are not American style. Korean dramas and movies are not American.
Just tell me after watching a Korean drama or movie.
ExtraTV reporter, interviewer!! I hope in the future you will do more research and be more informed on who you are interviewing. Sum up: Don't ask a stupid question like that! Lucky that LJJ was very polite and humble so he didn't put her down. Would she ask an A-list Hollywood star that question? They would look at her and be like. Is this girl new to the job?
2:45 Whoa! There's a HUGE difference between 111 million VIEWERS and 142 million HOUSEHOLDS. A HUGE difference.
FR!!!!!
5:10 if she googled his name in imdb she could have instantly realized he was already a star even before the squid game craze.....Americans really need to escape their narrow-ass Americentric bubble....
황동혁 감독님 서울대 출신에 영어도 엄청 잘하셔서... 통역 제대로 하는지 확인하는 눈빛 매서움ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I wouldn’t say it’s perfect because you can tell he struggles to find his words and say them with clarity but who wouldn’t when it’s not your first language. I would say he knows enough to get by which is not a bad thing. The interpreter is there for a reason to help the ones that don’t know any English but also to help him out too knowing that he’s just more comfortable speaking in Korean overall.
The director probably understands English much better than what he can speak so that’s probably why you see him agreeing with everything the interpreter is saying.
which one to watch first?
- Deliver Us From Evil
- The New World
- Il Mare
- The Face Reader
- City of the Rising Sun
This reporter is extremely American-centered. He is already a top Asian star. Reporter. To tell you the truth, don't you know that Korea is more popular than the United States in the world?
I almost think its disrespectful for Extra not to feel embarrassed and still keep this video posted.
The interpreter was real good. I wanna be like her when I grow up.
he's already on the industry for more than 20 years and ask him this question 5:11
ikr
If you want to see how he started become where he is now.
You should watch Korean series called sand glass. He had become national star after this series.
@SonderDAze X you are right. 👍
Wow !! perfect translation .!!!

Oh my god...you asked that to lee jung jae? He is a legendary korean actor. Do your homework, reporter
I just have to give that props to the translator 👏
You guys must watch "New world" one of best gang movie i've ever seen.
The interviewer needs alot of search
You can tell he understood the question before the translator stepped in
Y’all should seriously put some respect on this man’s filmography I-
i am a fan of the interpreter 💯
I think that reporter didn't know Lee jung jae is ready super super star in Korea since he was young. He is not comfortable to go around on the street that's why people too much love him in Korea. Just now he became super star in the world. So other people of abroad knew him now
