This one is the second. She acts like she doesn’t comprehend anything. I don’t know how she’ll manage nursing school, never mind the demands of the job if she graduates.

If judge simpson doesn't think you are good candidate for probation pack yoyr toothbrush. He gives most people a chance.
She's willing to do anything to stay out of jail, except actually follow the rules.
How can she be accepted into nursing school with this kind of legal difficulties. Now after listening to her, she lies easily. She surely has no business being in ANY class involving any nursing kind of care-volunteer, CNA, LPN, or other. She hasn't the sense to get in or though RN. DANGEROUS
Judge Simpson dropped that "Mr. Allen" right in the middle of a sentence like it was nothing.
He does it so cooly I often have to rewind to catch it!
Judge Simpson's interaction with hardheaded defendants should be shown in law schools. His love and compassion for other people, especially the troubled, is quite inspiring. And this young lady's attorney did agreat job reading the room and let the dialogue go

This just sounds like lip service - it just sounds like she’s saying whatever she thinks she’s supposed to in a sweet timid voice, and I guarantee you that’s not how she talks outside of that court room. She just didn’t care about the probation terms until she was facing jail time but now it’s ok because now shes taking it seriously, lol. Let’s hope she cleans her act up.
As a paralegal I guarantee that she isn't as soft spoken as she's pretending to be..as a former first responder I would hope they think twice about her in nursing school..

Judge Simpson is far more patient than I. I would have sent her for the max after 10 minutes. She had given no true reason why she deserves probation and many reasons and examples of why she should be sent to the jail. "I Honestly...." 99.99% of the times is the equivalent of saying: "I am about to lie." While it in all likelihood can't be used as consideration, she appears to be giving canned answers/bullet points provided by her attorney.

Nursing School? I doubt it. Not since she already has a record. They are very strict with that sort of thing.
The nursing shortage in the US is so severe that nursing schools have drastically reduced requirements for admission.
I believe you’re thinking of the military. My husband is an RN, and a nursing supervisor at a large hospital in a city with a metro population of about 3 million, and I can assure you that just because people are accepted into BSN programs, it doesn’t mean they make it through to the end, including state board exams. What has to be known and demonstrated has not changed, including the one requirement for biochemistry, an extremely difficult course which dumped 6 students of 20 from his cohort. Anybody with a record would never be hired if they somehow managed to get through, and nurses who were employed and violated the law were fired, depending on the severity of their offense. A felony is a given exit ticket.

When the courts treat crime as a joke the criminals, in turn, will treat the court as a joke if they get dragged in there. Will certainly treat their probation as a joke as well.
“I am positive that I can do probation…” (this time but not last time), they all say that to try and avoid jail. Judge Simpson did a nice compromise but heaven forbid if she messes up again, she knows what’s coming.
