If you have ever played undertale in a pacifist run you would know what happened to asriel when the humans attacked him he smiled and really he was trying to smile the pain away like toriel.
I have felt like a bad guy often in a game. Randomly driving over people in GTA, trying to shoot NPC's in a fps, picking the evil choices in a telltale game. But I never truly felt like a villain before playing the Undertale Genocide route.

Just noticed how her first arrow attack starts off looking like the exact same thing as the nuetral route's first attack which teaches you the arrow mechanic...then suddenly tons of speedy arrows come in from all other directions, telling you there's absolutely no tutorial here.
And in the pacifist or neutral run there are red arrows indicating that that arrow comes next to defend you're self but in genocide even if is red it could be a trick

Jerrome Bartolome yeah. That’s how, when eventually, I managed to finish her battle in a little over five minutes. Her battle is easy once you memorize the patterns. A trick to get past the audio I needed to was just spam through the dialogue and that will knock a couple seconds off your time
It looks more like a grimace, her pupils dilate a bit as well. She's in pain, but gritting her teeth anyway. She laughs whenever she switches your soul mode though, as if she can't believe how powerful she is now.
I'm having a crisis, i don't know what i want to be when i grow up, my main option is to be an indie game devolper, so watching this fight fills me with determination and somehow it inspires me to follow my dreams! I'm crying because of my future, but this battle "shows" me that i can be myself, that i want to be what i want, that i can be happy if i want, that's why i love this fight, it helps me to clear up my mind and to easily choose a decition...i think i want to be an indie dev, learning about indie games makes me truly happy, so yeah, i might go for it

For those wondering why her soul doesn’t shatter it doesn’t have the power to persist after death only asgore and toriel and asriel can because they are boss monsters
To beat this I had even memorized the pattern, and had to time it all correctly, to be honest, it’s like undertale actually helps your awareness since it makes you act quickly

I like that this wasn't a perfect run in the vid. Aside from getting to hear the best song in the entire game more, it really sells that this is the first fight where Chara has truly been challenged, thanks to all the EXP and LV.

@@ES_ETP he cant manipulate space and time. only flowey remembers timelines however he was able to figure out that resets and saves are a thing because he is quite smart and because of that knowledge he can remember vague details from saves. i assume that since flowey hates sans too much he used to be the player before frisk and then quit trying after being defeated over and over by sans, which is what sans also tries to do to the player

To be honest this kinda broke me. You befriend everyone in the pacifist route and save everyone, once you play the genocide route you're just a reckless maniac that gets everything out of the way, even your previous friends.

i was thinking of bitcin about some people getting bent out of shape and calling people sociopaths for doing a genocide run in the top comments then I think back and realized it isn't a bad thing that they are. In fact it's a hallmark of why Toby Fox's Undertale is so good. The interaction and story telling through simple game mechanics made these characters so beloved that you've brought people emotionally to their knees. On top of that, he made great bosses who are so cool and challenging you bring gamers to the table looking to get over his challenge. Personally I didn't enjoy doing what I had to do to challenge Undyne and Sans and that's okay. For the aforementioned reasons, Toby worked his magic and made you feel like a true villain on this run which repulsed the few i was annoyed about. Regardless of what your stance is (really neither side is mutually exclusive, you can love them and want to challenge them at their best), people may see a toxic fandom fighting about pacifist run and genocide runs but I see a piece of work that stirred the passion of many and is still revisited 5 years from it's release. and it's a dam shame no one comes even close to Undertale even when they have an established fan base or millions of dollars.
This was the point in my No Mercy route where I felt like I should just quit, because this was the point where I really realized that I was the bad guy in this situation.
Monster bodies aren't like human ones, they are mostly made of magic. So, they are more sensitive to physical attacks, and their defense depends on the opponent's state of mind. If the enemy's goal is to kill no matter what, his killing intents will basically give no chance of survival to the monster (except Undyne the Undying, cause her determination allows her to come back and put up a fight)
This is my favorite battle in Undertale for multiple reasons. 1: *You are no longer the hero* When you decide to take the life of Monster Kid, an innocent chikd just trying to do the right thing, you are the protagonist but no longer the hero of this story. When you decide to kill them, you have officially become the villan. And Undyne is trying to save the world from you. 2: *Undyne's Determination* In this battle, nobody can win. You can't kill her and she can't kill you. In the end, she becomes her own downfal 3: *Undyne's Goodbye* From when she takes the blow for Monster Kid to ahen she is melting away, Undyne's death scene is truly beautiful. When she is saying goodbye to everyone, especially Alphys, never getting to tell her how she feels, it really pulls on my heartstrings But hoo boy when she is melting away and *smiles* that sends chills down my spine. She knows that she's done for. She knows that she can't win. She knows that she is dying...but she still smiles, all the way through her death. There are many more reasons but you are most definately bored by now Thank you for coming to my ted talk :D
