Listen to his songs every night. I've always asked myself why he is so underated. He's got such a unique voice and melodious. Mafia of the 80s 90s from Dubai effect? Didn't know he went to Kapil show. Was a kid when he voiced for many A stars I am glad he got 2.3 M views compared to my favorite Atif who got 1.5M for video released a few years ago .

He has a powerful,masculine,melodious and versatile voice with excellent voice control and brilliant voice modulation. Actually, Amit Kumar was not underrated,he was overshadowed. Amit Kumar was one of the most popular and leading male playback singers of 80's and early 90's. He was an active male playback singer from 1974 to 1994. He sang 170 Hindi songs and numerous superhit Bengali songs for R D Burman. He worked with almost all the music directors(from O P Nayyar to Pritam) and sang for almost all the actors(from Dilip Kumar to ShahRukh Khan). In fact,he was the second most preffered male playback singer in Hindi films,after his father Kishore Kumar. During his career,he received many nominations for best male playback singer filmfare award. Even he won a filmfare award for best male playback singer for the song 'Teri yaad aa rahi hai' of Love Story,by defeating his father Kishore Kumar,who was also nominated for the two songs 'Humein tumse pyar kitna' and 'Chukar mere man ko'. In 1994,Amit Kumar declined many singing offers of Bollywood due to the lack of quality music composition. Saddened by the demise of R D Burman in 1994,with whom he shared a deep bonding and whom he considered as his mentor,Amit Kumar left Bollywood and started concentrating on live shows and concerts. Amit Kumar had told in his various interviews that he was a victim of the politics of Bollywood and music companies,which forced him to leave Bollywood in mid 90's. So, dirty politics of Bollywood was also one of the main reasons,which led Amit Kumar to leave Bollywood. Amit Kumar had performed and sang all over the world in various foreign countries like England, Australia, USA,etc. After leaving Bollywood,he composed many music albums in Hindi and Bengali,which were successful as well. Amit Kumar's Bengali album 'Sagorika' is very popular in West Bengal and Bangladesh. In late 90's and early 2000,he made a brief comeback in Bollywood,on the request of the music composer duo Jatin Lalit, and sang hit songs in the films like Silsila Hai Pyar Ka,Dillagi,Raju Chacha,Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham,etc. Amit Kumar sang numerous superhit and evergreen songs in all three decades,i.e.,70's,80's and 90's. The title songs of the famous TV serials of 80's and 90's like Chunauti, Neev and Campus were sung by Amit Kumar. The Hindi theme song of the famous cartoon Ducktales (Zindagi toofani hai) was also sung by Amit Kumar (made everyone's childhood). After Kishore Kumar,Amit Kumar is one of my favourite singers. Amit Kumar is very versatile singer. He can change and modulate his voice according to the actor and the situation of the song(sings according to the demand of the song).
