Although we missed Stark these pass few episodes I like how they reestablished how he's genuinely a great and lovable guy. The townsfolk knows him well by name, and the kids love him too. Now as for the master, I don't think he has done any training with him. I COULD BE WRONG, but I have a feeling it began and ended at the old guy coming up to him telling him you have reached a high level, I have nothing left to teach you.

Serie... the most op mage on earth and the biggest tsundere of all time 😅

    • @THExJMC
      @THExJMC 3 месяца назад +2

Although we see Serie as older and should be more mature, she comes off a tsundere because of how she acts. However, something key to note about her is to our knowledge so far she did not have any figure like Himmel to change her the way Frieren did. So Serie has been living a somewhat lonely existence with all of her interactions being that of a student-master relationship. She loves her students, but even someone who's been with her for at least 50 years like Lernon does not truly understand her and address her any deeper than her being his master. So, like Frieren said, they are awkward and Serie is childish. Fern would have the same relationship with Frieren if Frieren didn't change, but as you can see Fern is much more playful with Frieren and they try to express their love for each other.

    Top 3
    1. Hunter x Hunter
    2 Frieren
    3. Code Geass.
Frieren feels like a mix between Hunter Hunter and violet evergarden. I’ve been watching anime my whole life (I’m 27), and I’ve never really seen a show do what Frieren just did. I caught up with the manga last week and can confidently say it’s peak. If the next arc gets the same level of treatment that season 1 adaptation got, it could tie Hunter x Hunter for me.

You got some top tier stuff there with Code Geass and HxH. Good taste. And yeah everyone thats read frieren manga keeps saying the same thing that the next arcs would be peak if theyre adapted with this level of care. Getting me excited lol. Its gonna be a longggg wait though. Going to have to find something that can scratch this itch now that Frieren has left behind tbh. It will be interesting to see how fast we get another season of frieren and what it will look like because when they greenlit production of the show I do not think they knew it would become this massive phenomenon. Obviously they were expecting it to do well cause they chose to adapt it but it really took over the anime world during its airing. Im anxious to see how they will navigate now because of its massive success not only in Japan but in the west as well. - Red

TEVs literally like "this anime's got me denken, it's got me lernen".
Jokes aside, though, this anime is a new favorite of mine. I read a good chunk of Frieren a few years ago and loved it, but kinda put it down to save up chapters for a long while. After the anime started I picked it back up again because everyone kept talking up the arc that I only got a couple of chapters into before taking a break. Well, in the 6 months we've had anime-Frieren I've probably re-read the manga 2.5 times while enjoying the weekly episodes. I'm currently having a similar experience with Trigger's adaptation of Dungeon Meshi, and it's insane that these two dream adaptations aired so close to each other. Other than that it's really hard to say when the last time I enjoyed anime like this was.
Top 3 is actual torture to pick, but if I'm not gonna overthink I just wanna throw the Aria series out there, along with Patlabor: The Early Days, and maybe Nodame Cantabile.
None of my newer picks are overlooked gems, they're all popular for good reason lol.
As for spring 2024, definitely checking out the redo Spice and Wolf anime, been thinking about reading the light novels for years, but they beat me to it.
Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru, I know is going to be sweet and funny, but I'm not sure if the anime will deliver more than the manga already does.
Girls Band Cry seems interesting, but they have to pull off good character dynamics since it looks like they're going for a social misfits gathering sort of thing.
The rest is either stuff I'm not caught up with in any form, or I'm committed to the books.

Nodame Cantabile is amazing! I never hear anyone talk about it!

    Top three anime:
    Cowboy Bebop
    Frieren
    Konosuba
There's a few others in the same general area: FMA: Brotherhood, Mushoku Tensei; but those three are pretty solid in their positions right now.
As for Stark being largely out of the picture over the last arc, that's fine. As noted, he got a lot of his development right after his introduction. And in addition, he doesn't really need as much attention as others. Like the old Lynyrd Skynyrd song, he's a simple man. Not simple in that he's unintelligent. While he's certainly not as educated as his other party members, he's got a head on his shoulders. He just doesn't have a lot of confidence or worldly experience. Hes fine letting others sit in the limelight while he does-as Wirbel noted in this episode-the behind the scenes stuff that people will remember personally years and decades down the toad.

Cowboy Bebop is a classic. Cant go wrong with that. We just finished reacting to Konosuba Season 1 a few minutes ago and it was pretty enjoyable! Bortherhood is of course on of the GOATs. A lot of people have been saying Mushoko Tensei is up their for their favorites. I think we might have to bring it to the channel at some point since it seems to have so many fans.
And yeah im really curious to see what happens in the coming season 2 with our Party and what other adventures we get into. A lot of my favorite moments from the show were just side quests that we were getting into like Old Man Voll. Im so glad we decided to watch Frieren. It definitely gave me one of the most refreshing viewing experiences in a long time. It makes me sad when I see others giving up on it within the first couple episodes. - Red

Frieren and Mushoku Tensei are fighting for top spot on my list of favorites depending how I feel, so it's good that now when Frieren is done for the time being, in mere 2 weeks Mushoku Tensei season 2 part 2 is starting. Distant third would probably be Cowboy Beebop.
God I love this show, it's one of those that just feels like it was made especialy for me and what I like and appreciate, characters, characters, characters, and like the best of them, it subverts your expectations at every step, not by mocking or dishonoring the tropes, but somehow it manages to reinforce and compliment those same tropes while subverting them at the same time. @@TheHideoutReacts I would wholeheartedly recommend Mushoku Tensei aswell. For me, its right up there alongside Frieren in terms of high fantasy anime. Its just an overall great package: peak animation, awe inspiring world building, mature & realistic writing, flawed yet lovable characters and unforgettable moments. It will make you laugh, cry and excited like its your first fantasy anime again. Perhaps I'm over hyping it a bit too much lmao. The novel did popularize a lot of annoying isekai tropes and some themes or the main character himself might be a bit off putting at first. But the buildup and payoff, the character development? I could never narrow a list of any kind of favorites down to just three, especially if it’s anime. I like a variety of things, for different reasons. I might be able to narrow down three genres that I like best, like comedy, action, and fantasy. Anime that are at least a good blend 2 of the 3 of these are likely high contenders, like Frieren. I don’t mind drama, but the less stress the better, in some cases, like Frieren. I suppose it’s even better when it’s a world and story that actually inspires me to want to write or draw something similar. Obviously, there’s Frieren, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Bleach, and a whole assortment of anime and manga that I can’t currently think of that are on my list I seem to be building.

This is head canon. There’s nothing in the source material that suggests that Sense told Serie anything about any of the applicants. Serie’s passing or failing was based off of her intuition alone. My guess is she looked at Übel and could immediately tell not only that she’s a genius, but that she was not afraid of her, and probably was thinking of a way to kill her.
Additionally, Übel only told Land and Wirbel about her ability to empathize and copy abilities. Sense is only aware of Reelseiden.
