Inside SoFi in 4K: LA Rams vs. SF 49ers | 2023 Rams Home Opener

  • The Rams began the 2023 season on a high note, beating the Seahawks at home by a wide margin. We had high hopes for the Rams home opener vs. the 49ers at SoFi Stadium and were hoping they'd shock everyone. At halftime the teams were tied at 17! Things started to fall apart in the second half after an interception, although the Rams hung in there and only lost by 7. Even though it seemed to be a winnable game, I wasn't even that disappointed with our very young team. Best of all, even though the stadium was full of 49er fans, those around us were pretty well behaved and there were no issues.

      Honestly, the 49er fans seated near us this during this game were great. Pleasant, even exceedingly polite (the fan who insisted on shaking my hand and saying complimentary things when I passed by). No taunting, just watching the game and cheering like we were doing. Last year I had to leave the game a few minute early, which I never do, due to the taunting and poor behavior from 49er fans around me. I had such a headache when I left. Big improvement this year, let’s continue upwards! 🤝

      There were a lot of 49er fans, but honestly there were plenty of Rams fans, too! We were vocal and absolutely cheering on the Rams, and you can see many of us in the video. I'll be hoarse for days. It's just too bad that season ticket holders can make so much money off of 49er fans willing to pay the high resale prices. Some people make more than enough from selling their parking and tickets for this game to offset the cost of their entire season ticket purchase for the year.

      They left for that reason in the first place. Been back 8 years and other teams fans still outnumber LA in nearly every home game. Now what?

    • @EllabellitaLovesSlots
      @EllabellitaLovesSlots  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@keepingitreal940 the Rams are starting over again with the young folks to build a home-grown fanbase that hasn't already grown up with the Raiders or 49ers or Cowboys. It will obviously be a slow build, but in the meantime there are still plenty of Rams fans! You can see them in all of the SoFi videos I've posted, and you can definitely hear them. I see them at special season ticket member events and on social media. Sure, we're outnumbered at some games due to all of the reasons mentioned on this thread, but to us it doesn't matter, we're there to support the team no matter what.

    Good morning Ellabelitta🌞I’ve been waiting for your video, what a game🤔we played them tuff and not only had them on the ropes but could’ve beat them. I wanted to go to this game but my wife said no way Jose, too many bad memories of dealing with 40whiners fan from Anaheim or the Coliseum games, you can analyze this game and yes there a handful of plays but there’s three that changed the whole complexion of the game.
    The two personal fouls in the end zone were huge because it allowed them to advance to the one yard line, and they were able to score that touchdown with one second when we could’ve held them to 3 points or no points, that changed the momentum and even though we got the ball to start the 2nd half, they had the momentum.
    And the third one was losing Noteboom because now they were able to exploit that lane which they did perfectly, the two interceptions weren’t Stafford’s fault but there interceptions, the holding penalty on Higbee was clearly a hold on Bosa and the intentional grounding was on TuTu because if he keeps running to the corner that’s a touchdown.
    Overall we had them worried and Shanahan was showing it, I think Rams have to really put a short leash on Kendrick because he’s ok but not a shutdown corner, and I don’t know how many season ticket holders the Rams have but sure looks like a lot of them sold there tickets😖😖and as for Cam Akers, it’s we, not me, that’s why he’s on the trading block.
    Les and the scouting department needs to do a better job of drafting because a lot of there picks haven’t panned out.
    Anyways Ellabelitta it was a good game and let’s get ready for the Bungels, hopefully Joe Burrow is out and you guys have a great day😎
    Oh yes and hopefully the Rams disinfect SoFi from the faithful takeover 🤣🤣

      Hi John! I was trying to post this video quickly but I take so much footage there's a lot to sort through, and then it takes awhile for everything to upload in fabulous 4K! I wish it didn't take quite as long as I was up late!
      Anyway, I was strangely not really upset with the outcome. The Rams really hung in there, and you're totally right that it was just a couple of plays that changed the outcome. Losing Noteboom was big for sure, but that O line is still hanging in. I knew after that interception were were in for trouble, and I was really hoping the defense could generate some turnovers. I hope that the Rams give Tre Tomlinson a chance and give Kendrick a rest. And Puka! My gosh he's like Mini Cooper! This kid is going places. Great work by Tutu as well (finally!),
      since Van is surely not stepping up (he looked so good in training camp!) We've likely seen the end of Akers so good thing that Williams is (mostly) working out, and I like Freeman, too.
      Luckily a lot of the season ticket holders in our area were at the game, which was fantastic, and in the interest of fairness and harmony I have to say that the 49er fans near us were actually really great. The 49ers fan on the aisle at the end of my row insisted on shaking my hand and saying nice things every time I passed by, the guys next to us on either side didn't talk any ish, and when the Niners won there wasn't any nastiness. Not one taunt was directed at me, which is a massive improvement over last year's game!
      We have three home games in October to look forward to, and surprise, we're going to an away game, too!

      @@EllabellitaLovesSlots . Ellabelitta we did notice that the “Faithful” were a little subdued, because it could’ve gone sideways for the 40whiners, Yes I’m proud of the Rams because they have shown in 2 games that they are not rolling over, the O-Line looks stout, Avila and Jackson are studs and Shelton at center was the right choice. I hope they do give Tomlinson playing time even though he’s smaller, he’s a baller because Kendrick is picking up where he left off from last year, too many completions.
      You might not remember this but the Giant’s had a DB named Elvis Patterson, well his nickname was”Toast” and rightfully so🤔that’s who Kendrick is starting to remind me of😖
      Which away game are you guys going too🤔( the Cowboy’s)

      Good point, their fans may have been a bit discombobulated! I don't remember that player, but that nickname, ouch! We definitely don't need anyone on our team to have that name following them around. I miss Jalen!
      We're actually going to Indy to see the game vs the Colts, which hopefully will be a win for the Rams! We'll be in Indiana to visit family next week so we thought, why not? I hear Colts fans are super nice to visiting fans...I doubt we'd have that reception in Dallas, lol!

      The Rams won Super Bowl title a couple of years back. That should help. They just need to win another one and maybe another one within this decade.

    • @EllabellitaLovesSlots
      @EllabellitaLovesSlots  8 месяцев назад +3

      Yes, the Rams really did look great for awhile, and after Noteboom got hurt Stafford was under a lot more pressure. I honestly wasn't too upset with the outcome as everyone had counted the Rams out and had started that whole BS "tank for Caleb" thing, and now people can see that the Rams are for real.
      The fan base thing is more complicated. The Rams being away from LA for many years definitely hurt as fans converted to the 49ers or the Raiders, or grew up supporting them. Hell, there's even a huge Cowboys contingent since their spring training camp is in Oxnard! The Rams are doing a great job reaching out to the younger generations, and McVay has created a positive culture without the thug/gang element one sees with other franchises.
      Lots of fans would love to be in the stadium for games, but it's SO expensive. To be a season ticket holder you have to not only pay for the tickets for all of the games, but also a stadium seat license. And then there's the parking, if you can even get it. Many season ticket holders sell their seats for the 49ers game since they can make so much money--some make enough selling just those seats to pay for their tickets for the entire season. That's a lot of incentive for some people. Also, LA is a town full of transplants like myself, and loyalties often are elsewhere. Finally, LA is huge and there are multiple sports franchises and so many other things to do at once, so there isn't the concentration on one team that you see in other places, like Buffalo or Green Bay. I have faith that the Rams will continue to build their fan base. They got me!

      I think it got to do with the LA Rams left for St. Louis for 25 years or something. Those Jim Everett, Flipper Anderson Rams became 49ers fans while Rams were in St. Louis. Compton's finest Steve Smith, a 49ers fan. Richard Sherman appears to be a big 49ers fan as well. Rams, go to hell!! It will take another 20 years to fix your fan base!!

      It’s been difficult since you have a generation of Angelenos that have never seen an NFL team so they randomly picked them. I think that’s slowly shrinking especially with the Rams first Super Bowl title in LA. If the Rams win another title then it’s nearly solidified LA is mostly Rams land.

      There's definitely support and there were lots of Rams fans at the stadium, but it is true that the 49ers tend to pack SoFi--their fan base travels well and they do the same at other stadiums. One issue is that season tickets and the stadium seat license for the Rams are expensive. Season ticket members can resell their 49ers game tickets for a lot of money--in many cases enough to pay for their tickets for the entire season. Sadly this is more of an incentive for some people than attending the game and supporting the Rams, but some people are having hard times and I'm not going to judge them. All I know is that we became season ticket members so we could attend the games, and we'll be loud and proud at all of them!
