Just finished your book Mr.Neff. It's 2 a.m. here in Europe and I have to get up early, but I can't find any sleep. The whole story brought me to tears several times and I do not weep easily. I would like to thank YOU for putting this all together, for illuminate the life, soul and sensitive heart of such an exceptional musician, who's voice is a pure caress. You did that in a frank and gentle way. I'm sure, where Fred is now, not feeling persecuted anymore, he is overpowered by all that love in the lines and between the lines! Thomas
Hello Thomas. You are welcome, and may I say that what you wrote made my day. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feelings about the book. It touched me more than I can say. Peter
@@calico1947 Thank you Peter! I'm so glad Fred's music and spirit do not know any geographical borders. And so does your writing performance! With lot's of love for you and everyone who made 'The Bag I'm In' possible! Thomas
WoW! I'm from Austria and hunted Fred Neil vinyl in the early 90s in New York. His music is part of my life. Sadly Fred disappeared unrecognized...and now I'm so happy that you care about that man...thank you! I can't wait reading your book...it's not available here in Austria or Germany, but gladly Amazon US ships to Europe!
Reading the book now. It’s excellent. I have played a couple of Fred Neil’s guitars and they are magical. The Miguel 12 string needs repair but is still around. His son Christopher has the guitars. He is also a musician and super spiritual person who “hears/sees music in nature.” I am blessed to have met him and now to learn about his dad. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this amazing music man. ❤
Recently bought your book. Looking forward to reading it and watching your documentary when it comes out. Is there any chance you could post the whole Canaan Land song?
Thanks Mike, I hope you enjoy it. I'm hoping that Fred's version "I'm On My Way (to Canaan Land)" along with several others I know about will be released properly on vinyl or CD. If you don't already know, there is a new vinyl release of Fred live material from 1964 by Delmore Records titled "Fred Neil 38 MacDougal"(CD should be available soon). I'm proud to say that I had a small hand in it's release.
@@calico1947 Thanks Peter and thanks for your help with any additional material that makes it out. There's been such a dearth of unreleased Fred material to make it out compared to other artists. I don't know how I missed 38 MacDougal, I will get it as soon as it's available on CD. That looks amazing. If Delmore doesn't put the other recordings out is it possible for them to be released by someone else?
